So I was wondering if anyone could help me to understand why a 5 year-old would have skin that looks pale and is pasty?
Is this normal or a sign of illness? |

Hi Isfields,
I'm not sure what you mean by "pasty." And is the paleness a sudden thing, or has the child always been fair-complexioned?
Either way, you should contact your pediatrician. A simple blood test can determine things like iron-deficiency anemia, which causes skin pallor, but is easily treated with vitamin/iron supplements. |
