I've used retinol a twice in a fortnight, OCM in the mornings for the last 3, and L'oreal gel wash which has Sycicylic (sp?) acid in, today I put some foundation on and my skin has gone very patchy as if put foundation on dry skin, but I can see its where the very top layer is coming off, not red or anything so I assume this is just an old layer literally peeling off?! Have used Vit c, jojoba oil and SPF15 moisturiser so skin isn't dry

Dryness and flaking is quite common when first starting retinol, even if you've only done it a couple of times. Since your gel wash also has salicylic acid in it, that's also on the drying side - so yes, the peeling is probably a normal side-effect, especially since you're not red or irritated. |

Thanks Stardust, looks awful with make up on, I don't usually wear it, aside the peeling some underskin 'spot's on my cheeks have almost gone!
I wasn't worried per-say, but think I'll just use Dr H CC and joboja oil tonight, (after taking make up off) give my skin a rest!
