I'm looking for a skincare line for guys. My brother is 19 yrs old and suffers from acne. He uses drugstore products like Oxy and Neutrogena that really dries up the skin and really doesnt help. I think he needs something that clears up acne while being gentle enough to not dry up the skin. Any suggestions? |

I honestly don't see why skincare for guys has to be any different from skincare for girls (i.e. guide him towards the same products you would use for yourself).
When I was younger, I used to use those terrible Oxy pads to clear up oil and zits. I didn't know at the time how dehydrating and abrasive they were. Recently I saw my younger brother using them and I told him to use Cetaphil instead. He said he likes it. Cetaphil's definitely a genderless, non-offensive product... it's probably a good start? |

There is a website called menessentials.com where you can find lots of products and a forum discussing skin care, hair care, shaving, etc., dedicated to men. Some of their favorite products are Baxter's, California North and Menscience.
I started taking care of my skin long before there were such things as men's skin care lines and have only tried samples of these. A line that I can definitely recommend that will appeal to men is Malin & Goetz. HTH. |
