Has anyone tried this yet? i am so itching to buy, but I am spoiled now with this site and need to know more before I buy..i guess i could be the guinea pig this time around. sounds like a great product!! Here is what it reads in the sephora website..
"The patent-pending, 100 percent pure organic mineral concentrate in RareMinerals Skin Revival Treatment™ contains a perfectly-balanced blend of 72 macro and micro minerals harvested from untouched, virgin soil. The unique, non-aqueous form of the organic soil mineral concentrate is the perfect nutrient carrier for vitamins A and C, and a host of botanical extracts. Some of the benefits are faster skin renewal, increased firmness, improved hydration, increased skin luminosity and a reduction in the appearance of redness associated with acne and rosacea." |

I use this--- I really like it! It's easy to apply, and it seems to be helping my skin in terms of brightness, clarity, etc. And I also like that it's not irritating at all-- you can barely tell you have it on. |

Snort, snort.....guinea pig here!
I ordered a sample of this in clear....The reviews were too intriguing to pass up.
Will update as soon as it gets here and I've used for a couple of days.
It DOES sound divine, tho....

I am dying to try this, too. I am really trying hard to find an excuse to go to the mall where Sephora is...I can't wait to hear everyone's experiences. |

I have used the RareMinerals in light for only two days and I have to say...(bad news for your pocketbooks)..I think this product is amazing. I have already seen lightening in a hormonal red spot left on my chin from a trip to NYC (no sleep, etc). My face hadn't erupted in a really long time and then this happened. I am so fair, that I really hate when a hormonal spot happens as it takes forever for the mark to go away. Anyway, after just one night, it is so much lighter that I thought I was seeing things. But, then my Mom concurred. I also like the way it makes my skin look. There was no residual rub-off on the pillow and I'v certainly spent more on products that have achieved a lot less. So, the early report is phenomenal...but I will update after more days use. |

I had a bad feeling when I logged on to EDS tonight that it was going to be an expensive exercise - turns out I must be psychic!
Exactly how coloured is this product? Is it just very sheer or does it look like wearing makeup? TIA |

I bought clear, and it pretty much doesn't show up at all. (However, when I get a little...shall we say "overzealous", my skin starts to look a bit orangey, but that's prolly because I'm the palest girl alive...) It doesn't really do much in terms of covering stuff on your face either, but since I'm married, that's the least of my concerns, LOL. |

I don't understand why, if this is a night treatment, why why why would you need it to come in foundations shades?
I know we all wanna look beautiful all the time, but I just don't get why something that is supposed to go on while your sleeping needs to come in light, medium, and tan. |

I've used RM for just over a month ... and while my skin is looking nice and clear, I'm not sure that it has much to do with the "jurasic" minerals in R.M. as it does with protecting your skin while you sleep.
In other words, my theory is that having SOME sort of MMU on your face overnight [after cleansing] puts a protective barrier between your skin and whatever bacteria might be in the air or on your pillowcase. [Despite washing my bedclothes every week with hot water and bleach, I think that bacteria is still an issue.]
To that end I've begun an experiment ... RM on one side of my face and my MMU Primer on the other side. I did this for the first time last night, and this morning both sides looked the same. However, that's not a fair "report" at this point ... so I'll let you know in a month if this finding holds.
I have the RM in Clear ... which doesn't have bismuth in it ... and my MMU Primer doesn't have bismuth in it either ... just FYI.
If my theory holds true, then it won't really matter what MMU you use at night ... which would save a lot of $$$ over purchasing R.M.
Just my two cents ...

I hated rare minerals. It made my pores look bigger and my skin tone look ruddy. I actually threw it in the trash two weeks ago and it wasn't nearly half gone. I got it off sephora and could have returned it but what a pain in the butt to do. I just faced the fact that I threw away 60 dollars. Not the first time, won't probably be the last. |

Well I've been using Rare Minerals for 1.5 months now.
I have to say that my skin is looking better ... but I still thought that it had more to do with creating a barrier on my skin overnight than with any specific benefits within RM. I felt sure that I would have the same benefits from using my own Silk/Pearl Primer at night.
To that end, I've embarked on an experiment. For the last week I have been putting RM on half my face [the left half] and my own Silk/Pearl Primer on the other half of my face.
So far, [and let's remember that 1 week isn't a definitive test by any stretch] I can see no difference in benefits between the two halfs. This, of course, could change as I follow through with the experiment.
It's my understanding that MMU can't clog pores ... unless there is bismuth in it. I'm using the "clear" RM ... and it doesn't have bismuth in it.
That said, I make certain that I remove the RM and Silk/Pearl Primer completely ... just as I make sure I remove my MMU every night. This could be key ... because basically with RM you are applying MMU in the evening.
Now, have I noticed a reduction in lines? I can't say that I have, but I'm pretty lucky in that regard anyway ... and the lines I do have aren't very severe.
Have I noticed a reduction in pore size? Again ... I can't say that I have but then I don't think that any product can actually decrease the size of one's pores. Basically products can help minimize the appearance of pores, and it does that.
There could indeed be some firming results from using RM ... but so far it's not dramatic. Still, my skin has benefitted from applying RM at night ... and that is huge!
I'm just hoping that I see similar results on the side of my face/neck where I apply my Silk/Pearl Primer ... because it's much cheaper for my to use than the RM!

Thank you for the update Mary. I'm currently using this and still haven't really made up my mind about it. It *does* make my skin look really nice as I'm going to bed though |

I have been using the RareMinerals skin revival night treatment for about a month and a half. I have oily skin and it seems to make it more oily sometimes. Also, I have been breaking out in places I never did before ( the breakouts could be from stress though).
Another thing I noticed is my eyebrows grow back so quickly!! Almost overnight! They have always been a pain, but ever since I started using the night treatment, I feel like the minerals are like fertilizers for my facial hair.
On a positive note, it does give a nice glow and if you want to look even more beautiful for bedtime (for your man), the golden gate blush looks great with it. Sometimes I use the night treatment during the day, because I like the coverage better than the mineral foundation. Luckily the mineral veil helps with the oil and shine.
Any feedback on this would be great. Let me know what you think. |

Envirogirl . . . I just wanted to warn you no to use the RM at night. If you read the package directions for use, (the paper insert), you will find that they tell you this product is only for night. It is mainly because it does not contain a suncreen like the day foundation does. For this reason, exposure to harmful UV rays and enviromnetal pollutants could be the culprit of your breakouts. See if your breakouts were connected to RM application by day. My advice to you is leave RM to night and try BM day foundation with SPF. |

I also liked RM at first but then my results seemed to level off, and not at a stopping point that I preferred. Also, I disliked the sponge applicator, so I used a baby buki instead. IME, turned out not to be worth the hassle dealing with it anymore. Glad I tried it for a longer time period -- got it out of my system. I won't repurchase. |

I've been using the Rare Minerals in Clear, and still cannot decide whether I'd repurchase again or not. The colour is absolutely awful on me. The Clear seems to come out as almost a gold, sparkly colour on me. It's not matte, it looks quite frosted and shimmery on my skin. I wouldn't wear it at night if the sole purpose of it's use is to make my skin look more beautiful of a night!
Apart from that though, at the moment it seems to be doing a great job of helping to reduce the appearance of my pores. I have also seen a slight reduction in skin redness, and it hasn't broke me out at all, yet! |

I've been using it for quite afew months now. I like looking better when I go to bed, and when I wake up in the morning!
But apart from that, i cant put my finger on it, but it has definitely improved my skin. far less spots, and much smaller pores. My skin seems to like it, and I cant see myself giving it up unless my skin changes.
I DONT use the sponge applicator, it is silly i think, it doesnt work. I brush it on. I wish it was designed differently.. |

I have started using Rare Minerals in Clear and I am very pleased so far.
What worries me on this blog is that so many people don't really understand the product! It is not a make-up at all - it is a NIGHT treatment, the only reason that they give a choice of colours is for people who have very bad skin and would prefer to 'cover up' when in bed with their partner! That is supposed to be a 'bonus' to the product because no other night cream does that.
But, take away the colour agent from the product, you are left with pure anti-ageing ingredients including Vit A (retinyl),Vit C, Aloe, Honey, Wheatgerm, Rosemary, White Tea, Rooibos ,Fruit Extract, and 72 Macro/Micro Minerals. You don't find any of this in the Mineral make-up!
So, to those that say just using the MMU at night would protect the skin, you are wrong - this product does so much more! It reduces pore size, reduces redness and softens wrinkles.I bought it for redness, wrinkles and pore reducing so I'll report back when I start to see long term results. |
