I've spent about one month's salary for a body slimming course. It's too bad that I only lost couple lbs and gained back in just 2 months. Crying or Very sad

Hmmmm ... probably the package of peels I'd bought years ago ... it was probably about $500. That was the most all at once. But if you add up all the skincare and the odd microdermabrasion here and there ... it would add up to ALOT. I think I'd be horrified if I actually added everything up ... Sad

On one product it was $115...it was supposed to be $85 (which is still high).

I've also paid for laser hair removeal. I think it was $250...might have been $450.

The most expensive face cream I ever bought was $478! Surprised That is a hell of a lot for me. Very Happy But to be fair on myself (who would!!) the cream was 200ml rather than the usual small 50ml jars. Still far too much for me to repeat.

Probably around AU$570+ at a La Prairie counter during one of their GWP's....pffft what a waste of money it was too! Speak to the hand But on a single product, I would have to say Sisley's Botanical Night Complex AU$270, the SA promised me it would get rid of my scars, but she was lying of course Rolling Eyes

This will make me appear incredibly vain when in fact it is actually the opposite. To get rid of scarring from acne as a teen I have had the following done and have nicer skin at 40 then in my 20's.

Dermabrasion 400.00
7 Glycolic acid Peels 700.00
2 TCA peels 400.00
2 Artecoll to plump up the deeper scars 1600.00
1 Erbium Yag Laser resurfacing 2300.00
Obagi for two years 800.00
2 Micro Laser Peels 2200.00
1 IPL for broken capillaries 450.00

While that may sound like a lot keep in mind it has been done over the last 12 years.

In recent times it would be a 60ml pot of La Mer (as far as a single item) but I have spent thousands over the years ... I tend to buy a whole line from the same range each time ( cleanser, eye makeup remover, toner, day, night moisturiser...serum... eye serum.. mask... exfoliator.. whatever they have!) and do itall on the same day each time( or over very short period of time) Beauty counters must see me coming! Rolling Eyes There arent too many brands that have been available in Australia that I havent given a test run ...sigh... well, it's a hobby. ( vice.. no... Hobby) Very Happy

Sherri - I too suffer from acne scars. Everytime I asked my derm he always said to wait a bit longer since nothing can really get rid of them yet! How much improvement did you get from all those works?
TIA!

Hi Tidieu, I am thrilled with my skin now and honestly people wouldnt' believe I ever had scarring. It was a long and at times painful process but the end result was well worth it.

Now I wish I have done it like you years ago! I have been asking my derm for the past 15 years and have not had anything done yet.

I guess of the works you had done, Erbium Yag Laser resurfacing is probably the most major procedure. What was the downtime for that? Which procedure gave you the most improvement? If you were in the Toronto area, I would ask you for a doctor recommendation.

Thanks.

Hi Tidieu.

I really don't think the erbium was the one procedure that gave me the most result but rather all of them combined. With the exception of the glycolic peels every procedure I had done had down time of about a week. The glycolic peels are the one thing I think were a waste of money.

I didnt take no for an answer and visited numerous plastic surgeons and derms before doing any procedure.

Living in NB is a huge disadvantage in that we have limited resources here. Living in Toronto would make it so much easier I would think. If your derm wont help you out then have him refer you to another. Dont give up and be persistent it does pay off in the long run.

It was a gradual process for me and no one thing gave me the results I wanted.

Hi Sherri,

Are you still using Obagi and still like it? Did you get good results from it? What results did you get from Obagi? No problems with using HQ for a long time? Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks.

I stopped using Obagi after two years as I had gotten all the result possible. I loved Obagi and honestly think it gave me the greatest improvement overall. Feel free to ask it is no problem.

So, I guess you did not have any problems with HQ. Many people seem to be concerned with long term use of HQ and that made me on the fence with Obagi. What products did you use?

I had no problems with it. I used the cleanser, toner, exfoderm forte , blender and retin A. I was never prescribed the clear and am not really even sure what it is for.

my most expensive purchase would be obagi system, but i think it is well worth the money. Although i stopped using it after 3 months, scared of making my skin thinner.

Your mom is so great Natning, I was not as lucky as you are 'coz i didn't get good result in my slimming experience.

But I have tried both the photo actif and laser surgery operated by a dermatologist in Hong Kong 2 years ago to remove my freckles.

The dermatologist said it takes about 10 times (both photo actif and laser) for removing my freckles and the cost of each treatment is about $250 CAD. However, my freckles are all gone, my skin was softer and the pores were minimized after the 4th treatment (3 times photo actif and one time for laser). He said I can quit anytime if I were satisfied with the result. I costed me 1K only ($250 x 4)!!! In fact, during the treatment, I can't use any cleanser to wash my face but just the pure water. He also provide me the ointment as daily moisturizer. That saved me a lot of money on skin care also.

It was a wonderful experience. I think I'm going to take the treatment again this winter because I found that some spots(but in lighter color than before)are coming back. As he suggested, I need to do it one or two treatment every year just to keep my skin in condition.
