Hi girls, summer is almost here, and it is going to be so darn hot in here. Should I store my serums in the fridge? |

Good question! We're already getting close to the 100 degree mark here in AZ, so now I'm wondering about this, too...

if the temp in the fridge is too cold, will it ruin the serum? or....

Wow, I don't know about anything getting ruined in the fridge, I suppose it could.. I store almost all of my products in the fridge.. Some nail polishs too. I haven't had anything get ruined and it feels alot better going on than at room temperature. |

Chrissie, that's a great idea about putting the Vitamin C powder in the fridge...I'm assuming that keeps it fresh longer? Do I need to put the DIY Vitamin C serum in there as well?

There was an older DIY post about storing C serums in the fridge.. I think one of the product 'experts' said it was not good to put it in the fridge because the temperature changes could degrade the vit c too?
Sorry I wouldn't be able to remember the post's title for the life of me. |

Perhaps it depends on the room temperature the serum is stored at? The back of my bathroom cabinet is against an outside wall and in the summer, any lotions stored there are warm to the touch by the afternoon. Now I keep my creams and lotions in a drawer in my closet where it's cooler but anything susceptible to heat and light I'd store in the fridge. There's one crisper drawer full of bottles and jars. |

I do this with my Vitamin C serum to prolong the life of my c serums. And it seems to work more often than not. |

I "mistakenly" put my Valmont skin care products in the fridge...which a friend of mine told me later I shouldn't do so. The low temperature indeed will affect the DNA and RNA stuff in the products. I'll definitely consult an expert before putting my skin care in the fridge next time. |
