Hello, Olive Oil lovers
I got a big bottle for my OCM and hair needs. Do I refrigerate the remainder? Also the OCM, does this go to the ref as well?
I read a lot of posts about using olive oil as moisturizer for the body. Can i keep it in the bedstand, or in the kitchen Ref? |

I also read in another forum that they use EVOO alone for OCM without CO. is this ok?
I thot it should always be with Carrier oils?
The reason I ask is that I cannot get hold of Castor Oil And my one derm said that Castor Oil CLOGS pores |

I wouldn't recommend storing Olive Oil in the refrigerator. If it gets cold the texture and opacity change - not a pretty sight. I forget the shelf life of OO...why not use it for cooking too? |

Olive oil IS a carrier oil.
Essential oils are the very potent oils that you get in small bottles.
Generally, if you can cook with it or make salad dressing with it... it's a carrier oil. If you would use it for aromatherapy, or it comes in a tiny bottle and is almost watery in consistency, it's an essential oil and MUST be diluted in a carrier oil (with the exception of tea tree oil and lavender oil which are the only 2 I know of that can be used "neat", i.e. applied straight to the skin). You cannot dilute essential oils (EOs) with water.
Castor oil can cause some people to break out. It's very drying/drawing, and you have to make sure you get it all removed from your skin if you're using it for OCM.
It's perfectly fine to just use Olive Oil, or to make your own combo for OCM--I've heard of people using jojoba, coconut, sweet almond, grapeseed, adding Vitamin E oil, etc. The perfect mix is whatever you find works best for YOUR skin.
If you go to the Long Hair Community, they have a skin/nails forum with LOTS of discussion about OCM. That's actually where I first heard of it.

Don't know if that link to the forum will work, but if you google "oil cleansing method" you should be able to find a link to a few forums that discuss it. Also, there are quite a few message threads within EDS about OCM and people's experiences with it.
