Received a sample of poly-vit last week. After using it 2 nights DH asked what I put on my face just before going to bed. He said it smelled like cigarettes. When I had him sniff the bottle he instantly said "that's it!"
Does anyone else think it has a peculiar odor? Just wondering if I got an "off" sample or this is what is suppose to smell like. Could green tea extract be the culprit? |

I've never used the Poly-vit (although am interested in the results) I do find my active has a slightly unpleasant odor to it for about the first 5 minutes, but since the results are so good I decided I can live with it. Let me know how the poly works if you keep up with it. |

I seem to remember someone else talking about a product that smelled like ciggies.. but not sure which one it was.
I find Active Serum is a big pongy too, but it does not stay around. I have a PolyVit sample here but I wont be using it till june so dont want to open it to have a whiff. |

well, I am trying to not to add or try anything new for a while since I added SO many new products in the last 6 weeks or so (virtually my entire routine changed).
BUT on June 9 I am going to Australia for a week and I have decided that week will be a good opportunity to try some new things. One will be the PolyVit serum and the other is my specially-bought-for-the-purpose Osea normal/dry skin travel kit (cleanser/toner-mister/face oil/cream)
So, yes, I am afraid you will have to wait for 4 weeks for a review!
(I also have a Weleda Iris cleanser and Rose toner sample I might take over too) |

I just got the poly-vit & there's no smell to it at all. Just tried it for one night so can't really review. First reaction, I'll probably use it as a moisturizer-or after a microderm or something-it's very soothing. I guess I'm used to products with more 'zing'. Anyway, give me a couple of more days. |

I didn't recall any particular scent to this either I don't think. It's so weird to hear you say it's soothing. I know others have said this as well so I am in the minority but my skin was seriously hotting up the first few times I used this. I'm a bit perplexed by this because my skin doesn't usually react to anything - this wasn't a reaction per se and I did see good results with it but let's just say I was concerned the first few times I used this... |

Mabsy - What results did you see with the poly-vitamin? Is it something special that you wouldn't be able to get with another product?
Thanks. |

I'm not sure if you can get this with another product - quite possibly you can. My face looked healthier but it was also somehow more resillient? I can't quite describe it really. Someone mentioned that they got the impression that this thickened their skin and that's the kind of impression I had as well though I doubt that after a week or so of use this actually increased thickness of the skin. Still, it's definitely on my list and will be the first IS Clinical product that I will purchase based on the samples I have used. |

Mabsy - You meant you have tried the other ISC product and only like the Poly-Vitamin? Did you tried the active serum and super serum? How were the results?
Thanks. |

Mabsy, according to the directions on the box, feeling 'flushed' when using poly-vit at first is entirely normal-apparently it's increasing circulation-I just have tough skin. The first time I used up a sample, after a few days my skin looked healthier & firmer. I bought full size & just tried it once. I'll try it again-probably over the active serum. Let you know if I have any skin left |

Mabsy just a thought about your reaction. The Poly-Vitamin contains niacin. I know that niacin can cause facial flushing and heat when taken internally. I wonder if it can cause the same effect when applied topically? If so maybe that is what you are experiencing. Just a theory- maybe someone else might be able to offer more insight into this. |

tidieu - No, that is the one I liked the most. In fact I would probably purchase the ProHeal or the Super Serum but definitely not the Active serum. I know lots of people have had really good results with it but I don't get anything more than I get with my usual AHA serum so there is no point for me to spend the $$$ on this.
Marina & Theresa - You're right about the niacin and the flushing being normal. I didn't know this with the sample so I was rather concerned when this happened and my face started to feel super hot What amazes me Marina is that my skin is usually pretty tough too so I just wasn't expecting this and didn't classify it as a "soothing" feeling.
Marina - I'm looking forward to your update |

Hi Mabsy - Which AHA are you using that gives similar results as ISC active? I am currently using Skinceuticals line defense which is 12% AHA. It does not sting at all. I don't know if its PH and I just wonder if there is a better AHA to try. |

I used the CSRx AHA serum and also the Jan Marini one and both work very well for me. This is not to say that you shouldn't try the active - as I said, many people love it. For some reason I'm just not one of them |

Thanks Mabsy!
The active is much more expensive than CSRx AHA serum and Jan Marini. Maybe I will try those two first. |
