Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out what my skin needs, what would be the best skincare routine for me right now. I'm doing a lot of reading, but there are SO many choices and raves that it's easy to get overwhelmed.
I'm 27 and am mostly concerned with diminishing the appearance of a few fine lines, preventing the emergence of any new ones, and basically just having my skin look the best that it can.
My skin is not sensitive, gets moderately oily throughout the day (I'm good if I use some powder halfway through), and has some hyperpigmentation. I'm not too concerned about the hyperpigmentation, I've learned to live with it. If there's a product that gently helps, great, but NO hydroquinone for this chick! I also get a few little clogged pores.
Here's my current routine:
AM:
-Use Clarisonic face brush with a cream cleanser (I'm alternating between some drugstore brands in the cabinet right now)
-Apply PSF 12% Vit. C
-Aromaleigh mineral makeup
(I know I need to add sunscreen to my morning routine)
PM:
-Clarisonic face brush and cream cleanser
-Apply Aqua Glycolic face cream
And that's it. Very bare bones! I'm thinking along the lines of IS Clinical active and/or super serums perhaps. I just don't know what my face needs! I'm going for "young and fresh"! LOL, but aren't we all?! Any recommendations would be appreciated. TIA!! |

I believe your routine is probably very simple and effective except for the lack of sunscreen. No matter what else you put on your face, without blocking the harmful effects of the sun, you will never combat the effects of aging that the sun causes.
My only advice would be to add a very good sunscreen and an eye cream or gel. |

How's the Clarisonic working for you? It should be getting rid of your clogged pores... |

My basic requirements of my skincare regime are:
a. vitamin C serum
b. eye cream
c. an AHA product
d. moisturiser
e. SPF (unless in moisturiser)
So, looking at your routine, as you said - sunblock. Also, I'm with Bushy on a good eye cream. Other than that it looks simple but effective and I'm very jealous of your Clarisonic |
