I'm back!!
I had such a wonderful holiday, we opted not to do the whole disney thing, hired a car and drove everwhere the first week then collapsed by the pool at a hotel in Kissimme the second.
We went to Tampa, Sarasota, St Petes, Vinice..., then on the East coast visited Melbourne and Coco Beach where my SO used to live.
The weather was fabulous, I know the resident were praying for rain with all the unfortunate Brush fires.
I do have lots of photos......trouble is I am in my bikini on most of them so I will have to try and sift a more 'conservative' one out for you all |

Rosebud,
Welcome back! So glad you had a great time. I haven't taken a vacation in a while. I have to live vicariously through others so I'm looking forward to seeing photos.

I actually did not buy that much, I came away with a Marylin Hairbush, Burts Bees Lipshimmer, Milk and Honey Soap and er I think that's it!! |

Those pictures are so cute, Rosebud, and you shouldn't be embarassed to show yourself in a bikini. AT ALL. You look smashing. Now, me on the other hand, I'm only comfortable with a coat and pants on at the beach, my body such that it is!
Hope you had a great, great time. I love Florida.
Welcome home.

Rosebud - it looks like you had a joyous time. Good for you!
And let me add that if you ever start a thread complaining about your body, I'll go insane.
Do tell us what you eat... and if it's burgers and fries regularly like in one of the photos ... then I'll go doubly insane. |

Thankyou guys
Er yes I ate that pictured meal of burger and fries every day
I did try to be healthy and opt for salad but with the heat it went straight through me and I ended up on the toilet for the rest of the day.
It was far less stress for my SO to take me to Bennigans at lunch to fill up on burger and unlimited fries, then we would go driving up the coast or beach walking for the rest of the day so I would only have a bit of fruit in the evening.
I drank mainly water and had the stunning total of 4 beers all holiday during happy hour, only because they went straight to my head and I walking stright into a glass door thinking there was door there!! lol
Heat and alcohol don't mix!
I am actually missing my burger now I'm home, I feel so hungry all the time
Here is one that makes me laugh taken at Venice beach:

Rosebud,
You look great and your skin looks like peaches and cream in the burger pic.
The photos have me looking forward to summer. Thanks for sharing. |

I love Florida. My parents own a condo in Boynton Beach (which is about 10 miles due south of Palm Beach on the Atlantic coast) and I spent the summer there 3 years ago, job-hunting. God, best summer of my life. I miss it. Especially since I'm in Minnesota--which I also love, don't get me wrong, but it's hard not to think about the Florida weather. We're supposed to get rain mixed with SNOW tonight, in mid-May! I'll trade that for a beach any day. |

Glad you enjoyed your trip Rosebud. I'm writing from Melbourne Beach right now. We've been here a week visiting my Mother in Law. It's funny that you were hanging out in a bikini here coming from someplace cold. I'm bundled up in sweaters because I've come from someplace hot! My MIL was sweltering riding in the car with us because we get too cold if we use the air conditioning!
We're heading back to Roatan today. |

Yes I do remember it being a little windy on Melbourne beach, we spent one evening at a harbour (I love harbours even more than beaches) in Melbourne, it was a Friday night and the Yaught Club were all in the bar!
My SO has fond memeries of the restaurant there reputed to be the best in the area.....argh I just cannot remember the name of the place!!
I am so restless but glad to be home, the UK is so different from Florida, everything seems so green and picturesque here!
Well I have the travel bug!!! |
