I am a 38 year old female who has full facial acne as well as the beginnings of wrinkles around my eyes. The acne I have had since I was 11 is considered to be moderate and are located all over my body, but more severely on my face. I was interested in investing in the AlphaDerma line, but I just want to make sure it won't inflame/aggrivate my acne. Does anyone have any recommendations on which products I can use to help remedy both of my problems? I have also recently lost 120 lbs with hopes to lose more, and I would also like to firm up the loose skin on my face and neck (stomach too, but I doubt anything but surgery will help that). Any suggestions? All replies appreciated. |

I think you should see a dermatologist or your doctor for a fix for your acne. These days with all the prescriptions available, there is no need to put up with persistent acne. |

See your doctor - that's certainly the first step you should take.
After that, to keep everything under control, companies now make (halleluia!) anti-aging creams that also combat mild acne. Yves Rocher has the Retinol anti-wrinkle anti-blemish cream, Darphin does the Arovita Fluide (anti-age skincare that minimises skin imperfections).
I know it's a tough one, I suffer from the first appearance of wrinkles & mild acne.
Good luck to you! |

Boots No7 brand do something called No7 Beautifully Clear Age-Defence Blemish Care serum which claims to combat acne, and the first signs of ageing. I've read some positive reviews for that.
Also, I'm sure Oil of Olay brought out a range recently which claimed to do soemthing similar.
If you are looking for a natural solution, I read an article in The Guardian about comfortandjoy.co.uk. The lady who runs it said she first started mixing up her own oils and products when she realised she was developing wrinkles as well as spots, and nothing else had worked for her. It might be worth a look.
I agree with whoever suggested you go and see your dermatologist! They have lotions and potions much more powerful than the stuff get in beauty products. I've been give Retin A; that may be good for you, as it is anti ageing as well as getting rid of acne (mine improved dramatically in a week). I just asked my dermatologist whether retinol-containing beauty products were any good, and he immediatley said he was happy to prescribe Retin A which is much stronger. |
