On a huge splurge, I ordered the Phytocitrus Shampoo, Vital Radiandance Mask, and Phytomist set from Sephora. What a huge disappointment! Big two-thumbs down.
First, I have to talk about the horrible packaging. The Phytocitrus shampoo comes in a small glass bottle and is only 6.7 oz. Glass! In the shower! How stupid! That's just trouble waiting to happen. The insert says the glass is because they are environmentally friendly, yet the mask is in a plastic tub and the phytomist is an aerosal spray can. How environmentally friendly is aerosal? Also the set came in a cardboard box with plastic lining/padding.
Now for each product, the shampoo is okay and the best of the three products. If it were cheaper and in a plastic bottle, I might purchase. But it's not worth the price or the hassle as is. BTW, there is minimal lather but it does have sulfates. If you're going to use this, you should transfer the product to a plastic bottle for safety.
The mask is a perfumed conditioner that doesn't work very well. It left my hair dryer than my regular conditioners (currently Paves and Pantene) and not feeling very conditioned.
The spray is awful. It's too perfumed for my liking and left my hair feeling dry. The perfume quality of the mask and mist reminds me of Clarins body lotion products. I'm not a fan of synthetically perfumed products.
I rarely bother to return stuff even if I don't like it, but this stuff is so bad, I'll be taking it back to Sephora.

I'm so glad you posted this - I've been eyeing this range for a while but have put off buying it due to the price - SO glad I did now.
Thanks! |

I LOVE these products, especially the shampoo but it is impertative that it is used properly. In order to really see the difference, you MUST leave the shampoo on your hair for at least 2-3 minutes. If you use it like your ordinary drugstore or salon shampoo, it won't do anything for you at all, but when it's used properly you can see an immediate difference in the brightness of your highlights and they go back to looking as good as they did the day you got them. I make sure to use this shampoo at least once per week, although I do agree with you about the glass bottling. However, the products are kept in glass because they contain essential oils and plant essences that -- if kept in a plastic container -- would cause the plastic to begin leaching chemicals because the EOs will begin to eat through the plastic. |

Weeeeelll, if it makes you feel any better, I only believe the Phytocitrus shampoo is a must-have for those with highlights. If you just dye your hair with a single-process, all-over color, it’s not going to do as much for you as it would if you had highlights.
There, that ought save at least a few of your pocketbooks! |

Thanks for clarifying about the essential oils being the reason for using glass. I only saw "environmentally friendly" as the reason on the insert, but your explanation makes sense.
After reading your post, I tried the shampoo again and left it on for 3+ minutes before rinsing out, followed by my regular conditioner. I still found that the shampoo is simply good, but not great for my hair. Oh-well...
I'd like to thank you for turning me on to 1000 Hour Lash Tint and Ardell Lash Growth Accelerator. I love that stuff!
