Can I ask how you burned them? With a chemical or heat? If the area was just burned, then you need to keep neosporin on it at all times. Do NOT let the area dry out. If this happened a while ago, you should use something like Mederma which helps to improve already existing scars. And I'm sure I don't have to tell you but NEVER do this again! There are many other solutions that won't harm you or leave you scarred. Just ask the group here if you have this problem again and I'm sure they'd be very happy to provide suggestions for you! Good luck! |

There are band-aid type dressings that are specifically designed for burns, they keep the area sterile and moist.
that's what i would do.
keeping it free from infection right now is your priority. |

There are 3 things that can make scars look better (not necessarily cure). I am the queen of scars with probably 50 inches of surgical scars.
Things work best if you work on them right away. Also it may take 3 months before you see any improvement.
Ingredients to look for:
Copper peptides: These reduced lumpiness and redness but not the
white fine lines.
Silicon dervitatives or sheets: Very good as preventing keloids if used immediately over time can reduce the appearance of raised scars. It does work on old scars.
Allicin: This is an onion derivative that acts as an antiinflammatory. It does reduce redness and can fade scars.
I think you can use the silicon ones with either of the others I don't know whether Cops interact with allicin. It will take time so don't give up. |

If it's a new burn try emu oil, or La Mer The Concentrate |

I used to smoke, and burned my skin once while I was smoking and talking on the phone. I used vaseline and after a week or so, the scabs peeled off, but still have discoloration (my skin is prone to discoloration). However, your burnt sounds mush more involved than mine (I was burnt only for a couple of seconds), so you might wanna put neosporin. |

Have you been to a doctor? Also, can I ask what you thought burning yourself with a lighter would do to help the pimples? |

ouch ouch ouch.....You should see a doctor next time you have zits like that.
I'd suggest vitamin e, aloe vera...polysporin...and AVOID makeup...it'll only make things worse |

Were these blemishes cystic in nature? Are you sure they were pimples-- two years is an awful long time to have blemishes. |

Are you sure these were pimples? How can a pimple last for 2 yrs? Maybe it was a wart? |

If it leaves a scar try Mederma (available in drugstores and Walmart, etc.). It works really well on scars, fading them, etc. |

Here is what I did when I burned my face by accident by a retin A overdose:
1. wash with cetaphil gentle cleanser and cold water
2. neutrogena copper night creme
3. emu oil
4. neutrogena sensitive spf 30 sunscreen is essential
You may need to see a dermatologist after the burn heals a bit. I could see some microdermabrasion helping later on. |

Have a doctor look at the burn. Some burns heal best in a moist environment and others in a dry. Medicine is always changing its mind on this subject. Currently moist is the big push, but most wound care specialists advise staying away from antibiotic ointments-in particular neosporin. A good burn specialist can give you a gel dressing that will do wonders and may even prevent scarring. |

Neat essential lavender oil is supposed to be great for burns.
I think though if it's as serious as you say that you need to see a Dr about it. Putting a load of different creams and stuff on it that might be wrong might make it worse.

I really want you to see a doctor. You're running the risk of getting an infection, and those really don't sound like they were blemishes. Perhaps they were some other sort of facial anomaly?? |

I absolutely and completely agree! You should see a doctor, and maybe have antibiotics against the risk of infection. Good luck and keep us posted on how it goes! |
