when I bought some lippy from the Guerlain counter they were kind enough to give me a few samples again and amongst them was a 2ml sachet of the new issima Success Eye Tech (part of the new Success Model range) that is being released in Japan (and I think the world) on May 19th.
I almost sent this over to Mabsy as I am not fond of Guerlain skin care (way too much fragrance) but the bi-line of "Eyelid Lifter – Wrinkle Minimizer - Reinforced action" kept it clutched in my fist.
I squeezed the whole sample out into a clean La Mer sample pot (man, 2ml is actually a LOT of cream) and started to use it yesterday. It will probably only last a week or two at most as you are supposed to use this also as a mask twice a week as well as daily. I will post a full sample review when it is done, but I can say this after 3 uses - surprizingly for Guerlain there is NO fragrance but at the same time it does not have that awful chemical non-fragrance smell that some fragrance-free products (like Babor sensitive creams).
It goes on smoothly, sinks right in and leaves my skin feeling silky. Whilst using this sample I am not going to use any other eye serum or cream to give it a proper go. I am actually hoping I DONT like it because it is going to retail in Japan for 15,750 yen (about US$135) but in the USA it will probably only be about $80 given that the Japan pricing on Guerlain is outrageously more expensieve than USA (ie midnight secret is $106 at Sephora but equivalent to about $170 here).
Here is what Guerlain say about it:
A highly effective skincare product specially designed for the sensitive eye contour area, which combines four actions: eyelid lifter, anti-wrinkles, anti-bags, anti- dark circles.
On application, the eyelids become firmer, as if “lifted”; the eye contour is lighter, fresher and smoother. Because the outward signs of fatigue have been erased, the eyes appear serene.
After one month, the eyelids appear toned, the contour area has been re-defined ; wrinkles, fine lines and crows’ feet are less marked; bags and dark circles less visible.
But the best is yet to come: with Success Eye Tech, the eyes appear clearer, brighter and sparkling with youth.
It can be used in two ways, either as part of a daily skincare routine in the morning and/or evening or, for even more outstanding results, as a five-minute mask once or twice a week.
(ps. they are also releasing 2 more products in the Success Model Range: a "Smoothing Mask Quick Lift Action" (never got a sample of this ) and a "Smoothing Toner" (got a sample.. yes, Mabsy, that one is coming your way). |

No fragrance? That is surprising indeed! I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of this - a little part of me hopes that you don't like it as well
Thank you for sending the toner sample! I'll let you know how I go with it... |

Actually Guerlain never put any fragrance in any of their eye creams. It's only the rest of their Issima skincare range that is fragranced & therefore most people find them way too highly scented for their skin...I actually the floral-rose scent myself! I just wish the products weren't soooo expensive! |

I love this product. I'm Asian w/ single eyelids (hooded) and am on my 5th jar of it. My sister uses it as well. It's the only eye cream that's targeted for the lids that actually works. It's not extreme like surgery, but you can tell the difference after about a month or so, or especially when you stop using it. I usually can get it on eBay for around $40-$50 US. |

Hello tiger_tim
I've got some too!!! My samples are only 1.5 ml but I'll let you know how I go. I am happily using Issima SOS serum and night cream at the moment...lovely! I'm saving up for the Aqua serum for extra hydration...luxurious feel on my skin, but luxurious price too. I wonder if my family will notice if we only eat toasted cheese sandwiches for a month? |

i got a large sample of this when i went on my guerlain splurge and thought it was nice, but that's about it. did nothing for my dark circles, etc.... however, after *not* taking it on holiday, i have to say that i actually ended up missing it! it really seems to have a lifting effect on the lid. (my eyes are quite asian for my russian ancestory -- think there was a little stepping out of the gene pool at some point in the past.) anyways, i got a full size of the IS Clinical Eye complex, but i plan on starting to use this again on my lids only as i think this is where it shines.
i truly thought it was nothing special, but alas, it makes a huge difference on the lids. i hugely recommend you to use it only there to make your sample last longer. the difference became really noticeable at the end of the second week for me (though i was too stupid to realise it at the time -- duh!). |

not that i mean to be unfaithful to IS Clinical, but i saw way more improvement (quite unexpected, i might add) with Guerlain. seriously, i went to buy makeup and got a whole bunch of samples of their skincare which, while i liked what it did, also seemed to break me out. kept on with the eye complex because i was out of everything else and was too lazy to break into my sample packets. i'm almost ashamed to admit that i hadn't even realised my eyelids had been droopy until i stopped using the Guerlain -- it made that much difference! obviously, it's always best to get a sample first, but i do really recommend this for the lids. (does absolutely nothing for bags or dark circles though) |

I used it as a mask last night but following your instructions will use up the rest just on lids and under brow (where my sagginess is).
Ya know, in fairness, I saw a pic of myself over 10 years ago and my underbrow and outer corner of underbrow had the same "sag" then.. exactly the same. no change. so I am thinking it is genetic not age. on the one hand that makes me feel good but on the other.... nothing short of corrective surgery would fix it if it is built into my face. |

Sometimes the strong Guerlain fragrance can be a good thing. I made ACV toner and put it in an empty issima mallow toner bottle. You can definitely still smell the ACV (as I didn't add any essential oils), but the Guerlain fragrance removes a lot of the bite. Hey, maybe that's why Guerlain products are so heavily fragranced... not for pleasure but because they're covering up something? |

could be.. I have had some "unfragranced" (and I mean NOTHING not even essential oils added) products from major brands and they smelled SO BAD that I could not finish them up. Urgh. |
