hi everyone. well, today was eventful. my friend gave me bangs (fringe for the UK). i thought they were going to look great because she cuts them for herself. but i had to go to the salon so they could make them look somewhat normal. now i just want to grow these ugly things out as fast as i can!
would rogaine work? |

Rogaine isn't going to make your hair grow out any faster. That really sucks that you don't like your bangs but maybe you just need to mess around with them more and learn how to style them. Styling bangs for your particular face and haircut can be tricky.. it takes time! You could also hide them very well during the grow out phase with strategically placed bobbies and pins. Here's a link to a thread that discussing hair growing techniques and tips (products that work)....
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=12087
Notice she discusses M-T-G. This is a sulphur based product that will help grow your hair faster. Another controversial method is applying Miconazole Nitrate. Since you are only interested in growing out your bangs ASAP you could probably try this with no side effects. Miconazole Nitrate is most known as an anti-bacterial that is found in products such as Neosporin- AF (must be AF not the original) and Monistat (yes.. monistat). Using sulphur based formulas or Miconazole Nitrate have reported up to 1/2 inch growth or more a month (average is 1/4 inch a month). Here's a link to a different forum which discusses the Miconazole Nitrate in depth.

You could always pick up a tube of Neosporin-af at a local store, rub it in to just your bangs area and that's probably your best bet. You'd have to order the M-T-G online most likely. Well I hope your bangs work out for you or you grow them out quickly!
Oh, also I suggest high doses of MSM (notice.. more sulphur) at about 3000 mg per day |

My hair started growing more quickly (and falling out much less) after I started trying some of the things I found here on the EDS Forum. I'm not sure exactly what has helped, but I started adding 30 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil and 1 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar (thanks, Carekate!) to my bottles of (sulphate-free) shampoo AND I started taking extra zinc supplements. |

Not sure if this helps...but brushing your hair makes them grow faster. Silica supplements helps too. |

When I was in junior high school (before the wheel was invented ) I tried brushing one side of my hair every day (probably all of the time - teenager, you know) and it made a noticeable difference in the length. While drying my hair after a gym class people would ask if I had one side longer on purpose.
Now that I am way older (and have less time) I still brush - now with a mason pearson all natural bristle brush - and my hair is in wonderful condition. I also use different oils to massage my scalp - Kiehl's, Phyto, Rene Futerer - actually any kind. And, if you ever get the chance, go for an Indian Head Massage. An hour of bliss with lots of stimulating oils.
Plus I take biotin, silica, choline, inositol, cysteine, beta carotene, multiple vitamins + minerals every day. I got most of the list from a Herb Mindell book that I've used for 30 years. I took the dosages for hair loss, thin hair & healthy hair then incorporated the whole lot. I go in spurts because sometimes I look at all of the pills and just can't do it! But they definitely work, especially with the brushing & massage. |

MSM with vitamin C works for me. I originally took it hoping to fix a fingernail that for years has split vertically. The nail still splits though it grows a little longer before doing so now, so I'm hoping the nail bed isn't damaged and given more time it will be okay. My other nails, which were previously soft and broke easily, are now long and strong and haven't broken in months. <touch wood> Since starting on the MSM my hair, which previously grew the average 3/4 inch every six weeks, now grows about 1 1/4 inches in that time. The downside of this is more frequent visits to the hairdresser to touch up my roots. Not that I have any greys! |

If the bangs aren't too thick/heavy/short, you might be able to tuck them to the side and underneath with bobby pins? My hairdresser showed me how to do this when I was growing mine.
Not sure anything will make hair grow faster..I wish! But I have heard that hair (and nails) grow faster in summer due to the higher temperature. |

I took quite a lot of supplement for hair regularly, which is Nature Bounty for hair, nail and skin. It does maintain my hair very well in general
Since I want my hair to grow longer faster without losing hair, this month, i have been taking hair formula 37. I took them according to direction, to tell u the truth, I was not impressed at all with the product. When I am taking naturebounty product, i can feel my skin, nail and hair look great, but I didn't see much improvement taking HairFormula 37. I paid for around 89.99 for two months supplement.
Since I took so many pills, I am kinda felt fed up with it. I might go back to what I use before, which is Nature Bounty one and look for any cream/lotion/mask to help my hair to grow. maybe I should try that shapely formula. Any thought? |

My grandmother recommended dabbing the roots with some whisky, every day. I haven't tried it yet. She said it's very effective. |
