I wrote to Juice Beauty asking them what percentage of Vitamin C was in the anitoxidant serum and both their eye treatments (you know, like 5%, 7.5%, 15% ..whatever). TEN days later I got the following response that has me scratching my head a bit:

Um, like, huh? What is the big deal on saying whether there is 5% or 15% of Vit. C in a product?! |

It looks like they are avoiding the question siting -patent pending
I think they are afraid that given this information - you will be able to copy the product and launch it and put them out of business. |

Yeah, it does seem strange to not admit it, but I guess with the patent pending they don't want their competitors to find out. I'd be curious too (how much they contain). I just ordered some Juice Beauty products and would love to know what percentages of active ingredients they contain. I can't wait to try them, but I don't think they'll be here until maybe mid - late next week. |

Regarding the percentage of botanical actives in skincare products....
I have been doing a lot of research on the raw ingredients themselves, like plant extracts etcetc.
Most websites recommend a concentration from something like 0.1% (for preservative properties) to 2-3% MAX for any plant extract... not sure if it is because of skin irritation or the fact that any benefit just plateaus at a certain %.. SO number-wise, its a little disappointing to see
Anyhow, if a product had 10-15 extracts in it, I don't think you could even use something like 5-10% concentration because it would really saturate the product.
And another thing, once you work out what % one of the ingredients are, you can pretty much figure out everything else if it's listed in order.. so I guess they want to avoid leaking that because it could be easily duplicated |

yea I know all that.. but I was only asking for VITAMIN C... and I mean, everyone tells you the percentage of Vitamin C in their products. |

Judging from the ingredient lists I would says that the amount of Vitamin C is only a few percent at the most. It is also the magnesium ascorbyl phosphate form of Vitamin C and not L-ascorbic acid.
I totally agree that companies should be willing to disclose the percentage of actives in their products and would be reluctant to buy if they did not! |

I'd say this company makes the Juice Beauty products for them. Maybe you could ask them the % of antioxidants. :)www.realnatural.com
Had a look at their apple peel and it's exactly the same ingredients. |
