I was a bit sceptical of these but I figured that since I like cream-based eye shadows (like the Stila pots for example) I should give this a try as well. The one thing I have trouble with when it comes to the Stila pots is that some of the colours are fairly intense and look a bit over the top on me. So, I figured that since this is supposed to be subtle it would be a nice alternative. Also, I have to admit that I was suckered in my cute packaging
I am sorry to say that I am really disappointed with Rosie Jane, or at least with the Rosie Jane eye hints. I haven't tried their cheek gloss and lip dew but I have read good reviews of those and will probably still cave and maybe try something else from the line just to see if maybe I got unlucky.
I do love the colour - mint green with a little bit of sheen. I loved the external packaging as well (had a cute bow on the box ) but the actual compact for this product just feels like cheap plastic and without a mirror either! It reminds me a bit of the old green plastic cases that Clinique used to use for their GWP duo shadows Not a fan! Then, the actual eye shadow itself is really *really* hard. That was something I didn't expect! I don't know if I got a dud dried out one perhaps but I certainly expected it to be softer and easier to pick up. As it is I have to rub my finger for a while in the pot to pick up anything and then apply that to my eyelid. The colour is then so subtle that I can't tell I have any on so I have to do this a few times. I'm also finding that it's not easy to apply evenly and it tends to catch to some areas more than others.
Now, once I get through all of this, and apply a few layers and blend it properly - it looks gorgeous! A hint of shimmery green on my eyelids. But, there is no way that this look is worth so much hassle in my books! I have used this a few times only and haven't bothered since. I might re-visit but I'm not tempted at the moment |

I was really interested in getting the bronze one of these, especially because of the cute bow on the box! But thanks for the review Mabsy, this product is no longer one of my lemmings |
