Hi everyone,
I need some help on finding a good moisturizer for my face, which is combination, however my t-zone is super, super oily and acne prone...I constantly break out around my chin/lip area...I am looking for something that is non-greasy and will not cause more breakouts than I already have. An SPF would be a big plus as well, as spring time is coming...I have tried the MD formulations sunblock and B Boat Vitaskin, but they both made my face look shiny/greasy. I am currently using MDF Adv. Hydrating Complex Gel for moisture...but this is good but now that I am using Retin-A my face dries and slightly peels more than the Gel could help. Oh yea, and if it is anti-wrinkle that would be great too as I see some wrinkles creeping up on my face.
I tried Avon O2 Pure Oxygenating Complex with SPF 15...I thought, "Great...sun protection and moisture"...Bad Idea...It was greasy and made me so bad...I was still breaking out 3 weeks after I stopped use!
Price is not an issue...What I am looking for is quality...I really appreciate all the help I can get...Thanks |

I have tried countless moisturisers, and at 41 still have oily skin and sometimes find nothing at all is best for me! Recently though I bought cliniques sheer city block in spf 15, and find it pretty good. It worked best for me when I applied it onto damp skin (I spray a little Evian on first!) although if I was outdoors for long would probably apply on dry skin. It makes a lovely base too for foundation like this, and the titanium and zinc formulation hasnt caused breakouts for me. |

Try Dermalogica's Active Moist or Oil Control Lotion. Both are SUPERB in controlling oil but the Oil Control Lotion can be a bit drying (it contains salicylic acid I believe). Active Moist is phenomenol -- great texture without leaving that greasy feeling. Also try Yonka's Pamplemousse for normal/oil skin at night time -- it's a bit more moisturizing (oily skin still needs moisture) but not over-reactive to cause acne. I use Active Moist or Oil Control in the mornings and Pamplemousse at night time. |
