Hello, I'm a newbie here. But I used to live in Japan so I'm recommending anyone interested to look into the brands "Ipsa" and also "RMK" for their wonderful makeup selection. Their foundations are especially good and natural looking. These two brands are available in almost all department stores in Japan. |

OH.. there is a LOFT in KOBE!! Go to SOGO Department Store and you will find LOFT in their "annexe" (shinkan) building on the 1st-4th floors. I LOVE LOFT!!
You will find all kinds of cool make-up and stuff there and SOGO is a great store too (it is part of the SEIBU group stores I mentioned earlier). |

I saw the LOFT!!! I will go back there on Sunday...
Is there Kiss Me, and La Casta there?
I want to buy the KOSE items on sale, they're like small testers in a package |

you should find loads of "trial kits" for each brand. The Japanese are freakish for wanting to have a decent trial of something before buying.
One thing about KISS ME.. you wont actually find a KISS ME mascara because here the company name is Kiss Me and their mascaras are different names.
Their "Heroine Make" range is very popular and the mascara was rated #1 here last year (I have not tried it yet). They also do the comb type mascara removers. Here is the website:
http://www.kissme.co.jp/
Dont forget to try the SUNKILLER sunscreens (they are dirt cheap) - I have the daily UV gel (but it is a light milky cream) and it is good.. but they have some that come in little bottles to carry in the handbag (powder-in is one I want to try). THey all have hyaluronic acid in them and um, that stuff from grapes that is good for the skin.
One of the best fiber mascaras here is FIBERWIG but it only comes in black or brown (brown is hard to find). I have that one and it is good and they also make a mini-tip one called.. um... AH.. Tiny Sniper which has an angled head for lower lashes (my coworker swears by it)
web: http://www.imju.jp/dejavu/top.html
Opera lash is also supposed to be good http://www.imju.jp/opera/top.html Under this brand the company also makes EYE PUTTI which is an eyelid base.. .. that looks interesting (never seen it before till I just looked at the site)
The colored mascara on their sit is cheap (about $5) and has 2 types of black and 2 browns, blue and clear.
Dont forget to try a glitter mascara (I bought one but scared to try it ) and also the crystal lash if you find it (leaves like crystals at the end of your lashes).
Hmm.. did I forget anything?
Oh and yes, you should be able to find La Casta there (in the skin care section around the aromatherapy items).
I wish I lived in Kobe (or that you were in Tokyo) so I could take you shopping! Nothing better than spending someone elses money!! |

This is such a great thread!! I just LOVE buying japanese skin, hair and makeup items - they are always so fun and high quality. They know how to make it fun to be a girl!
I sure wish I could live in Japan too!! I'm going to save these suggestions for when I can get over there again. Thanks! |

Tiger_tim... have you tried the Pore Putty that you recommended in this thread (version one of this thread I should say)? I went to the website and was very intrigued by the pictures but I couldn't find ANY results googling it. Does it work well? It looks like an awesome primer. |

Thanks TigerTim!!! I was able to go to the LOFT.. and boy do they have a lot of stuff. I wish I understand Niponggo coz they seem to have a lot of good stuff!!
I got a lot of samples (small ones that you buy)... I got some KOSE stuff that I couldn't resist to try like the Medicated Sekkisei Lotion and the Black mask that they have! I also go the Rutina line of Sofina... I just want to test them before I buy big ones I will come back here in June so I will do all my shopping then!
I really like La casta, they smell so good! I will buy the Rose water (I love Jurlique rose water) but this one comes in smaller spray that can be put in the bag!!)
I want to buy the cleanser of Lacasta thanks Tiger Tim for recommending that!
I bought the Fiberwig (in brown) there were lots in black here. And I also got the Kiss Me Heroine Range mascarra for like 800YEN I also saw the Pore Putty, seems soo interesting!
What sunkiller should I buy? it's soo cheap! but there were a lot of variations that I cannot understand hahah.
Is sofina a good brand too? It seems very popular here I'm off to go to sight seeing Kyoto first thing in the morning tom... |

sounds like you had a blast!
As for sunkiller, I have the one that comes in the larger baby-blue colored bottle. I think it says on the bottle in English Daily UV Gel ... but it aint no gel.
But yes there are heaps... built in powder, waterproof, tinted, sports version and on and on.
I have not tried Sofina myself, but yes, it is popular. |

I've split all these replies from the thread about the missing thread on shopping in Japan. I hope this at least recreates some of what was lost and give a nice place to continue the topic. |

I'm planning to go to school there after I finish my degree .. hope it's possible.
tiger_tim, have u heard about Majolica mascara called "Lash Expander" ? My friend told me that it's very popular as well.
And for the first post, I just want to add that RMK has a nice skincare range as well. (Never tried ipsa, seems like the metabolizer is the popular one) |

I've tried RMK liquid foundation before and found it's not long lasting. My skin gets oily a few hours after application and my face literally turns "darker". Anyone has the same experience? |

Hi, I'm in singapore now, and there is also SUNKILLER (w/english sticker ingredients!) It's great, I've gotten the powder in milk, and the CLEAR water ( I think much like the daily UV GEL).... Really liking it. I still use my LRP Uvidea, but atlyst I can use this on the days I want a break from oily LRP
I must say I am loving the FIBERWIG!!!!! I got the one in brown and it feels soo light, and comes off with warm water I don't feel the need for a colorless mascarra anymore, coz this feels pretty darn good (I also got the one of KISS ME, but haven't tried). Bad bad tiger_tim.. made me cave in for the products you recommended.
I'm yet to go back on the 7th of June, then I will buy LUCIA, and I saw La Casta, I want to buy the trial kits, are their essential oils any good? What was that site again? Please re-post!!!! |

Hi, tiger_tim I tried th SNIPER in the store, but I have really really short lashes underneath, and found them getting off fast (like in the middle of the day)... So the verdict's not out there for me yet on the sniper.. The Fiberwig is great though, since my lashes above is longer
When I get LUCIA, do I use the LUCIA at night time? or can that go under my FIBERWIG (I will get one more fiberwig when I get back to Japan).... coz I dunno when I am coming back! hahhaha talk about hoarding... |

oh, you know I dont know about the Lucia.. loads of people here use it, so maybe if you do a seperate post ont he skincare board someone can tell you.
I am loving my Sanaa Super Volume Lip. I dunno, but my lips DID seem to look fuller, but it has not stingy stuff in it. Anyway at under $8 a tube it is great. |

Hi tiger_tim, I'm actually looking for the powder foundation .. do you know of any good ones? I've heard ppl saying Maquillage and Revue are great .. I've tried Sofina but I thought it was a bit too thick. I tried Sisley before and I really like it but that time I got it for free from my cousin
Any other brands are ok as well thanks a lot !~ |

Ipsa skincare is really good for hydrating your skin.
Also, Majorica Majolica has really cute/princess-like makeup (one of Shiseido lines) |

I am using the metabolizer from Ipsa right now, plus other stuff from their line. My skin absorbs the metabolizer extremely well especially with face massage. And due of the dry weather here, I always add Time Reset Aqua N on top too.
(gosh , i m such a skincare junkie) |

Sophina makes great sunscreens as well.. not greasy at all and doesn't leave a white film on top. |

I am off to Kobe again this Tuesday... (my first stop is the LOFT!!) Can you tell me what brand to get for essential oils? La Casta offers a lot, but it's quite pricey!
My list goes:
1. Sofina UV Cut Milk
2. Lucia Brow Essence
3. Fiberwig again (and I want to buy my friends!!)
4. Essential oils!!!
5. Dr. Hauschka products, La Casta
I'm off to China the week after after... I don't suppose there is anything interesting to buy there? |
