Best Products for Bleached Blondes?

Hey, I haven't posted in a while and just thought I would make a topic about the best products for bleached, dying, split, blonde hair.. Razz

Mine is platinum blonde and long but damaged in some areas.

The first thing I have used recently is Shimmer Lights purple shampoo that can be purchased from Sally Beauty. I was skeptical since Clairol makes it and it's sold at Sally but I tried it and it pretty much eliminates the brassiness in my hair. I use it once a week, but not for too long or else my hair turns purple.

The second thing was a recommendation from a lady on this forum. It's the Biolage ULTRA HYDRATING deep conditioning balm. I had to order it off Ebay since no places by me had it. It instantly detangles your hair and I swear I can feel it getting healthier. Also used once a week.

The final thing is Sugar Shots from Bedhead/Tigi. It's so new it's not even out yet, but they used it on me at the salon yesterday. It comes in five little capsules that you drop into a cup of hot water for a minute and then put into your hair, like a hot oil treatment. You use it between your regular shampoo and conditioner. WOW!! Big difference, my hair feels so much better! Plus it smells great.. very excited about the long term potential of this one.

I am always looking for new products so if anyone could give me recommendations about keeping the color blonde (or in my case white) and products to help grow it longer, that would be great!

I also have very fine bleached blonde hair and with my golden undertones, its goes brassy really, really quickly. My bestever purchase (and repurchase) is Delorenzo colour care shampoo in silver. I use it every second wash, and it keeps all the brassiness out. I condition with Joico's K Pak conditioner - looove the scent, and its light enough not to weigh my fine hair down. I also began using RPR My Vitaliser leave in moisturiser, it's also light enough that it doesn't weigh my fine (and prone to oiliness) hair down, but leaves it soft, smooth and shiny. The SA told me this was one of their best sellers Shock

With these three products, I'm sooo happy with the condition of my hair - the only issue now is the psoriasis on my head which drives me to distraction, but most of the products for it cause my hair to become brittle and break off (not to mention disclour my blonde) Confused

Aveda Blue Malva Conditioner keeps the colour white (again with purple pigments) and puts moisture back into the hair. Nexxus Emergencee protein treatment takes care of split ends. This mask makes the hair stronger and harder and should only be used every two weeks. Another fantastic protein treatment is the Frederic Fekkai Overnight Repair, and his Hydrating Cream is a must on holiday; it protects the hair from drying out. Phyto Phytodefrisant is a great leave-in products that helps the hair to look straight and sleek - great if you have fine, whispy bits or split ends. My budget recommendations would be Scwarchkopf Silver Shampoo which is usually found at the chemist and Lush Marilyn mask which is a pre-wash treatment that really makes your hair silky and smooth and bright.

Actyva Cold Wash is excellent for toning down brassiness in blonde hair. The bad thing is that this Italian line of hair products is only sold in Salons.

You can turn ANY shampoo or conditioner you like into one of those purple tinted brassiness elimating ones by simply buying some Red-Gold corrector at Sally Beauty Supply. You just add drops of it to your shampoo or conditioner since its super concentrated. This is what I do and its fabulous. At one point years ago I had super short super white hair and the Shimmer Lights tinted my hair a light purple! Shock

I returned it and thankfully it faded out. With the Red Gold corrector you can make it as strong or weak as you wish.

Hi Janna, just so you know, you can buy the Red Gold Corrector in a tiny little tube that you twist off the top (its real cheap like a dollar or something) or you can buy the little container (about $6). Its on the little container where you can find the directions and suggestions for use (one of them is adding it to shampoo).. if you buy the smaller little trial size vial thingy you're going to have to remember the directions or look them up on the internet. I can't tell you off hand exactly how many drops but the bigger size bottle does tell you. I made the mistake of just buying the small one the first time and then had no idea how much too add to certain things!

Confession: I am a DIY wannabe. I so much want to concoct my own potions and lotions and serums and stuff but because it just all seems so complicated to me, I end up doing nothing. But one day................

My hair used to be white-blonde, but as I've matured, it has deepened to a medium blonde. Now, I have to pay for highlights every 8 weeks or so. (Sigh!)

My hair is: fine-textured, delicate, flat on top, but thick & absolutely curly at the back. Pretty much two different textures of hair.

I used to go overboard with chunky, white-blonde highlights. We're talking: bleached! My hair is fine, and can only take so much, and I was also blowing it dry, straight a lot. My hair: started fracturing-off near the front. At one point, my hair-dresser (in Smithers) refused to touch-up my highlights.

Damaged, damaged, damaged! Confused

I had to start using really good treatments such as Redken C.A.T. spray, mixed with Redken All-Soft deep conditioner. I stole my mum's old, avocado-green Lady Kenmore, bonnet-style hair dryer (circa. 1971), and would sit under it with heat, wearing my mixture & a cheap shower cap. Voila! Healthier hair!

That was about 7 years ago. Now, my hair is very healthy, as I rarely (if ever) blow it dry. (no point, in Vancouver's humidity) I don't use heat implements that often. Redken is still a good line, but I use other stuff now, and my hair is very, very healthy. I had an inch cut-off four weeks ago, and it was the first significant "cut" I'd had in a year.

Products that I Use
Terax Miele Shampoo (dry/damaged hair)*smells like honey!!!
Terax Crema Conditioner (once a week)
ARTec "White Violet" Shampoo (the best purple-pigmented shampoo, ever!)
Suave Healthy Shine Conditioner for Coloured Hair (About $2.50 per bottle)
Suave Healthy Shine Shampoo for Coloured Hair (sometimes, if I'm out of Terax)

My hairdresser is always amazed by the condition of my hair, knowing that I've been using Suave conditioner! Once, she grabbed a colleague, and asked her, "Remember I told you that I have a client who uses Suave? Feel this!" Colleague's response?

"Holy s***!"

Terax Crema is the best, and though it's expensive at Sephora & elsewhere, I can get it wholesale Very Happy

Canadian hair company Uan's also makes a Crema which is comparable, but about the same price.

In Italy, Terax products are considered drug-store quality. No kidding.

Get some Redken C.A.T. Treatment, spray it in your hair, and mix it with some Terax Crema. Use a cheap shower cap, hotel/dollar store shower cap, or plastic wrap. Apply some heat (hair dryer), and wrap a towel around your head for at least half an hour. Do this once-twice per week. It will really help.
