I need help I got this solution at the pharmacy. Can this be used to spot treat acne? |

Hi - I'd be REALLY careful. Most salicylic acid products only contain 2% (ISC/Skinbio/DY). You can move UP to 5% when you're used to it - some places only on request. I never even heard of 10%. |

joziegrozy- how did you manage to get 10% SA? Did you ask them to special order it for you? |

Joziegrozy, I'd agree w/ above poster, 1%-2% SA is enough for daily cosmectics, if you need higher concentration, you need to use is under doctor's direction. Two more things you might need to pay attention.
SA is most effective when it's in an acid environment. I dont remember the exact ph value, should be around 3-4. Higher or lower than that, its effect dimishes pretty quickly.
Some people could develop photosensitivity using AHA/BHA, so you may want to try it at night only. |
