Hi,
I am unable to go out in the sun unless I have plenty of sun block on. I always love the "pink skin look" with no make up look. Those days are gone...so I was on the prowl for a beautiful bronzer that would compliment my skin tone. I am not a mall shopper I prefer town shopping. I am in a small town that has more college students than it does natives so bronzer shopping is limited. The computer has bailed me out as well as MUA and EDS with reviews. The first bronzer was by Pure Lux and it made my skin look dirty. I tried it for a couple of days and felt like people were looking at me funny. Next I tried Jane Iredale because I use all of her cosmetics and her bronzer made my face.... twinkle. I purchased but it havn't received Stephane Marais Bronzer that had glowing reviews. It was discontinued some time ago, but someone on MUA is willing to sell me her last compact. I was satisfied with that until I read another very convincing post on MUA on the Giorgio Armani Bronzer. I purchased it directly from GA website, shipping was nominal. It arrived within 4 days but no samples of anything else in the box. (I also purchased some blush). I had been out all day, although I had a showered in the early a.m., I still felt and looked tired by 5:00 p.m. when I first tried the bronzer. I didn't have any foundation or eye shadow on and hadn't reapplied my blush from 9:00 a.m. that morning. I did however have 5 days of Murad self-tanner SPF 15 as a base. The GA bronzer is color #1. It comes in a black compact, approx 2 1/2" in diameter. No brush or sponge to apply it with. The cost is approx 42.00. I used my blush brush from JI; a couple of swipes to the compact and that covered my face. It was absolutely gorgeous. I looked as if I had the benefit of beautiful skin that only tanned. My 20-year-old daughter walked in 10 minutes later and said "Mom you look really tan, you were out in the sun, weren't you?" (I have had melanoma twice). I actually couldn't criticize myself after applying this bronzer. I did look tan, not made up. 1-10, I give this bronzer a 10. Oh! This morning I put it on the bronzer instead of blush and it looked even better. I am fair skin, Irish, good skin tone and texture, no blemishes, early fifties, 2 small vein lines under my right eye that is very pronounced when I am tired or flashing or having a period. I tend to choose conservative makeup choices nothing that sparkles, preferably subtle not the made up look. |

Anyone know if they sell GA cosmetics at Holts?
I haven't been in recently and have seen GA carried in other stores in Vancouver... |

Oh boy how i wanted to love this like everyone else. I bought this when Armani was still only available in Montreal and try as i might I did not like this bronzer, it looked way too rosey instead of the golden glow I'd had hoped for. I ended up swapping it away. |

Nope, this isn't the one for the golden glow. This is a true bronzer with no orange tones -I appreciate that -I don't look good in orange. My oils make everything turn orange. For the golden glow, I'd go for Nars Laguna |

I agree, this bronzer is not for skin tones with a yellow under tones. Sadly, makeup colors/hue effects use all differently sometimes causing us to spend on a fabulous products by review that turns out to be a dud. That is why I try to stick in my skin tone, eye color and age into my reviews because those factors influence my buying choices. (I have been tempted to lie about my age, pretend I am
30 ish but if I were to get caught there isn't a chance in hell I would get away with it.)
Speaking for bronzers, I have a ji bronzer brush that is really ....really.....weird. It feels like I am running feathers over my face and that in turn makes me feel like I am not getting any coverage.Has anyone else purchased one? I probably spent a few bucks on it and it just sits in my makeup area.

between Babs' review and you guys, i am so lemming this. bronzers have always tended to make me look dirty and inevitably turn orange on me as well. rosey, however, is perfect for me! i see a shopping trip in my near future |
