Did anyone experience that b4? Mine is a retractable powder brush. It smells weird and bad after I washed it with shampoo a few times. Is it possible that the water is retaining inside the retractable brush tube? So that's probably why it caused a weird bad smell? Anyway, what can I do then? ![Confused](images/smiles/confused.gif) |

Yeah, I think the water is retaining in the tube. Is there any way to dry it un-retracted and upside down so that any water would drip down the tube? The only other thing I can think of is to blast a hair dryer at it ... but this might make your bristles dry whacky. |

I get a sort of wet dog smell when I wash my brushes. After they dry they are fine and smell clean. I think the strange smell is normal in that the bristles are most likely animal hair. Also I don't dry my brushes while they are standing, this will cause water to collect in the handles. Instead I lay them flat on a clean towel. hth! |

i've had that happen with a couple of brushes when i washed them. it had to due with the type of animal the bristles were from. with mine, the smell always went away after the brush dried.
i was told by a make-up artist to tilt the brush with the bristles down so water would drain away from the handle
