I love this forum because
1.everyone is willing to share their beauty 'secrets'
2.everyone is willing to listen and give honest advice and opinions
I have ALWAYS had a DepartmentStoreComesticsCounterPhobia. Because the girls work for a specific brand, they're obviously not very willing to give honest opinions about the products they're trying to sell. The phobia got worst as my skin condition worsened. I felt they're not genuinely trying to help me. I'm just a big sucker who'll buy anything that's suppose to help with oily/acneic skin. Since I don't want to be suckered, I don't approach the counters. Thus, it was a downward spiral. I don't buy products because I don't know what to buy, but I'm afraid to approach the counters.
Anyways, I'm just real happy I found this forum and all of you!! |

Glad you found and are enjoying the forum Amaska.
I must say that I am not particularly fond of going to dept store counters but there are some genuinely nice SAs out there. Granted, many are not. |

| amaska - That's one of the reasons I love this forum, too. Not every recommendation here will suit every person, but it's a heck of a good way at getting honest reviews from people whose opinions I trust. Much more chance, I reckon, of finding skincare and cosmetics that will suit me, or even finding out how to make my own. |

I share your phobia for cosmetic counter sales rep too. I don't have this problem in Australia but everytime I return to Hong Kong for holidays and go into a department store or a cosmetic shop, I feel I being followed/hounded by a sales rep. |

My skin's condition has improved dramatically since I first starting browsing not too long ago. The asiprin mask works like a charm! It's so easy and because I see the results right away, it's almost addictive.
I'm also much more aware of the ingredients in the products I put on my face.
