| I have had two friends who have had thermage treatments and both say it was excruciatingly painful - although one is willing to go for a second time. The results apparently take three months to appear. Has anyone had thermage and notice good results? Is the pain really worth it????? |

Haven't heard of this before and just searched to find out more about it. Sounds interesting. It must be "somewhat" painful because one place actually does it under general anaesthetic  A lot of other places talk about local anaesthetic..... |

| It is fairly new - right now only dermatologists in my area are trying it. They can't say if results will last longer than 6-12 months though and at a price of like $1,500 - that's not a risk I'm willing to take. Besides the pain! No-one here that I've heard of will use general anesth. Most just give you percocet or a valium, which from what I've heard isn't enough to dull the pain. I think I'll wait until more results are in for long-term effectiveness and also until more doctors will use a real anesthesia (which I'm sure won't be far off with the popularity of Thermage). What we do (or consider doing) for beauty!! |

I'm a little wary of this at present. It can cause fat loss which I personally wouldn't like. Most of us lose fat in our faces as we age. 
I think this procedure needs some more time "out there" to get perfected.  |
