Many of us have posted about how to get rid of the little bumps that appear on our bodies. For me, the bumps are on my upper arms.

I was never really sure if it was keratosis pilaris, but I treated it as such by following a DIY remedy that I read about here, and elsewhere... involving exfoliating in the shower followed by a Eucerin lotion.

This worked like a charm until the summer humidity struck... the bumps were untouchable. Since I was also getting little bumps on my forehead with the humidity, I'm now wondering whether the bumps in my arm are not keratosis pilaris, but related to oil production.

I decided to treat the arm bumps the same was as I've successfully treated the forehead bumps, with Queen Helene's Mint Julip mask, and VOILA, the majority of the bumps disappeared overnight! Granted, I looked like a monster walking around the house with green arms (dodging my pups who thought it smelled nice Laughing ), but it WORKED.

I never would have known about this mask but for the forum... THANK YOU EDS, AGAIN!

LandB, Please advise where did you get this QUEEN HELENE MINT JULIP MASK. I also have a serious case of KP (I think?) on my upper arms and my back. Unlike the others on this forum - from their descriptions their conditions get worse when the weather turns dry. Mine gets worse when it is humid - so I am not so sure if mine is KP. Have been trying all sorts of treatment (tea tree oil, Retin-A, all sorts of body scrubs) and also have been to a doctor on this. The most recent one I am trying is the scrub from DERMA DOCTOR with some results. Would like to try this too. Did you get it online or from the drug stores?

Lifeisbeautiful, where are you from? If you're in the US, I've seen it at CVS and Ulta, I think most drug stores have it.

Yes, I purchased mine at a drug store (Brooks Pharmacy), but it looks like you can buy on-line.

YEP just purchased myself after reading all the posts here and on MUA. I got mine at Long's. I have seen it at Ulta, Walgreens and my local grocery stores, Alberstons and Raleys. cheap Cheap. I just bought it at lunch, I can not wait to go home and try it. I have not decided if I should try it as a spot treatment first, or go for the whole shebang>?

I can't wait to pick up a fresh tube of this when I get back to the States! (Currently working in the UK for a few weeks.) I used to use this mask a lot, I never would have thought to use it on my arms! Smile
Great tip!!

Laughing Laughing Yeah, what I'm eating makes a difference with mine, too. (mostly chocolate gelato Very Happy)

But since I have been religiously exfoliating and moisturizing them, the bumps have gone, but the little red spots are still there, and never seem to go away. Confused Do the Derma Doctor or Mint Julep mask help with those?

Cheers,
Bella

I have this too. I just ordered the jan marini glycolic body lotion and I'm hoping this helps get rid of the bumps. I still get redness though and for that I use prescription cortisone cream 2-3X per week. I hate my legs and stomach and now I can't even show off my arms, which are the one part of my body I like. I hate KP!!

I would have never thought to use this mask on my arm. I guess I will try that later since I always have a tube on hand. Thanks! Smile

Ahh, thank you! I'm gonna try that! Or maybe there's a more natural equivalent to cortisone cream. Hmm, maybe calendula cream?

Thank you for sharing this.

Do you apply anything to your arms after thoroughly rinsing the Queen Helene Mint Julip mask? My 13 year old daughter has of these on her arms, and has gotten worse this summer. We've had no success with exfoliation and lotion, or other products we've tried. Other than this, she's been blessed, so far, with clear skin everywhere else. She has fair skin, like her mom, and is self-conscious.

I appreciate any feedback or advise that anyone has.

I've stopped moisturizing my arms for the summer, relying on the "natural oils" to compensate for the drying from the mask. So far, so good! HTH!
