Ecco Bella FlowerColor Eyeshadow
This is the first in another series of "natural" product reviews I'll be doing from my BeautyBible review package.
Although I've only been trying these products for a few days, I've already come up with a potential rave.
Sadly, this most definitely isn't it.
The ingredients sound fabulous, as you can see here:-
Ingredients: Mica, kaolin, cornstarch, magnesium carbonate, zinc oxide, sweet almond oil, lecithin, green tea extract, aloe vera extract, flower wax iron oxides and ultramarines.
So I was very keen to try this eyeshadow, and really wanted it to work for me.
It came in a cute little box with a slide-out drawer interior. Inside was a semi-circle metal tin of eyeshadow - obviously meant to fit inside a compact as a refill. There was also a small sponge-tipped applicator. The colour I received was (6) Khaki.
The powder seem quite finely-milled and transferred to the applicator, then onto my eyelids very easily, with no dragging necessary. The Khaki can build up to rather a dark colour if you like, or left as a more subtler mid-toned shade. I think it would be useful for someone wanting to create a smokey eye look without going too over the top and vampy.
At first, I was rather pleased with the effect on my eyelids.
That was until I checked the mirror just over an hour later. Yikes!!!!
Not only had the colour migrated from my lids into the creases of my lids, but there were also balled-up flakes all around my eyes. Not a good look!
Such a short staying power, coupled with a hideous after-effect means that this is one product I'll be binning and don't ever intend to use again.
I'll be interested to find out if anyone's had better luck with this stuff than me? |

majorb, thanks for the review! I've had no better luck I'm afraid. Like you, I wanted to like this line but the powder practically slid off my eyelid as soon as I walked out the door. I thought I needed to apply a better primer, more silk powder to "set" etc and finally threw up my hands in frustration. I kept it, thinking that maybe I can use it as a fabric dye or something god I am such a packrat! |

Wow, this is really good to know. I've only ever purchased their lipstick, mascara and perfume, but I'm sure I would've done the eye shadow eventually, so thanks for the warnings! |

It was particularly disappointing as I've read really good things about some of their other products. I'd expected to be delighted - but it just wasn't to be. |

Anything to keep me from overloading on yet another product I don't really need... |

Heh, you're not kidding me. And these folks don't limit themselves to dishing on products that EDS carries, so now I'm running to Sephora all the time, too! Ah well, at least my skin looks great! |

I was surprised to see this review, I have been using Ecco Bella eyeshadow for years. I know the staying power isn't the best (compared to "non-natural" products,) but I have found it better than the other natural brands of eyeshadows I have tried. My favorite color is "camel" which really brings out blue or green eyes quite nicely. |
