Has anyone used products from the Dr. Perricone skin care line, and if so, what is your opinion of them? |

I tried the eye cream, the lip plump and I think one of the treatment moisturizers. Wasn't impressed. I read the book and it made sense, but in the end just seemed to be all hype. |

Thanks for replying! I just read the book as well, which is why I got curious about his products... I thought the book was somewhat overrated as well. |

I received samples from their website, the cleanser left my combination skin very dry and smelt very perfumed, the others were very unremarkable, and I still have a couple left on the shelf, not in a hurry to use them!!. I did buy the book which seemed full of common sense but nothing I hadn't read in half a dozen other similar books. Bit disapointing really. |

Hi abighill, welcome to the forum
I too used some of t heir samples and concluded that the moisturizer was very perfumey thus resulting in a headache, just a slight one though. If you don't mind that, it may work for you. |

I tried the line and it was "just okay". I have very dry skin and the cream wasn't very hydrating. My skin felt very tight and dry all day. On the other hand, my sister in the humid weather of Miami loves the stuff. So I guess everyone is different. |

I tried a couple of his products years ago. Didn't break me out but I didn't see much results either. Overpriced in my opinion. Won't buy again. |

I tried hydrating Nutient Mask, tinted moisturizer, olive oil cleanser, and a moisturizer from the olive oil polyphenols line.
I felt a tingling sensation when I first started those products, the sales lady in Nordstrom told me that is normal, and it means the products are working effectively. As time goes by, the sensation goes away, maybe I am desensatized. Anyway, the products were all right, but not good for the price I payed. I was not impressed at all.
I did not like the tinted moisturizer, it was thinker and not easy to smooth out. I would stay with my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer.
I agree with VoltesV, their products are overprized, I will not buy again either. |

You can use Alphaderma with similar ingredients and effects but less expensive. |

I read the book but I didn't use his products. It seems like a lot of marketing and I also heard, from many people who tried his products, it's overpriced and overrated. |

I bought Perricone's tinted moisturizer for fair skin. It was like rubbing glue into my face. Truly awful stuff. I had dreamed of an all-in-one product--sunscreen, moisturizer, foundation, and anti-aging--so I bought the hype. After spending so much on it (I bought it from a place where it couldn't be returned), I forced myself to stick with it for a month. I looked terrible that month. Never again. |

How is he so successful with such awful (or indifferent) reviews???? Is it all a matter of great PR and advertising? |

My opinion: overpriced products that under perform. His books have some nice ideas about diet and stuff. But I bet he also wrote those to sell his beauty products. |

These reviews are fairly old but I'm wondering what the impression of his products are these days? Have they improved or do many of you feel it's still just hype? |

I did the Perricone thing many years ago. When he came out with the facelift cream that costed a crazy amount of money.
I had his book and bought his stuff. I decided it was too much money and I couldn't keep up. He was, at that time, going for the high end customers, selling outrageously expensive stuff to a few and make big profits.
I notice now he's come down to earth and has a more affordable line at Sephora. But, I think he's all hype. Obaji, retin a, Copper Peptides all slay him. |

Trying samples of the Cold Plasma Sub D on myself and the hubby right now. It does seem to tighten up the jaw and neckline area but yet to be seen if it is worth the price!
I have enough for 2 weeks so we will see if it helps with hubby's chins. If it makes a dent, it might be worth a splurge. If you buy it from Sephora, at least you can return it (so they said).
I want to try a sample of the Cold Plasma Face but forgot to get my sample when I was there.
I have tried quite a few of the Perricone products and am just not a fan. Either too harsh or nothing happened for me. |

My experience also... the diet is great, never heard anything remarkable about the products.

hi
I was one of the first people online to ever try his line. I had direct contact with Dr. Perricone and helped him launch it online. It was a very potent and effective line but if you used too much too fast, it sent you back to square one.
the next version of the was very much watered down and didn't do what it should have
Now he's achieved something of a happy medium.. (if you can call it that) and most of the products are pretty terrific. I can't say much about the priciest ones because I never got to try that.. however there is one that helps everything transport into the skin easily and that's a REAL winner.

For two months I used Perricone products. Every once in a while I'd have to check what these products are supposed to do or, if I was using them incorrectly.
~Firming facial toner
~advanced face firming activator
~face finishing moisturizer
~Cold plasma
~Citrus facial wash
~white soap bar(I forget the name)
The result is that my skin dried. At first I thought the skin would dry, go through a phase of uglies, then plump up. That didn't happen. Maybe I'm in the wrong geographical location, or season for his products to work for me. I won't be buying his overpriced products again. |

Here is something interesting RE: Perricone products. This is from SkinActives..
Question: What's the difference between L-Glutathione that you sell and Perricone's Acyl-Glutathione. The product is listed on the QVC website. It's new and hasn't launched.
What they say it is : A revolutionary, new discovery that addresses the accelerated signs of aging in a single product.
Answer: The whole sales pitch is rubbish, as everything that has been coming from Perricone in the last 10 years or so (Cold Plasma?). Skin Actives has been using glutathione since we started, and it does not need any chemical modification (like an acyl derivative) to do its job. Glutathione is a great antioxidant with very defined and crucial roles in metabolism (please see http://www.skinactives.com/product/detail.aspx?prodID=44). The only reason to use a glutathione derivative instead of plain glutathione is as a tool in advertising, so that they can say that they have a “revolutionary discovery”. It is not a discovery and it is not revolutionary. Most importantly, no single active can give you everything you need. |

Very interesting! I know Perricone really touts the whole glutathione thing in a way that makes them appear exclusive so I'm interested to hear of it actually working in other products. |
