its similar to the decleor essential balm but more expensive. i find that the texture is harder/waxier than the decleor balms, when when i rub it in my palm to emulsify.. the texture is not quite the same/as light as the decleor. it smells great and goes on smoothly, but it feels a bit heavy.
used this for a few nights and it completely broke me out. i dont usually get cystic acne or even break out that badly from products, but oh my god it broke out my entire forehead, side of my nose and my chin in horrible inflamed large white cysts! i am very disappointed, as darphin is suppost to be excellent. use with caution if you have oily/combo acne prone skin.. i think its meant to be for "normal" non problematic skin types |

Opposite opinion...
Let me play devil's advocate here and say this...
I actually love this product (although you should know I have not tried the Decleor one and may order that one once I am out of the Darphin - question of price more than anything). I wake up to smooth, hydrated, radiant skin when I use this and it never broke me out. |

Before I ordered my Decleor I also considered Darphin. Some things I found out during my research:
1. More mixed reviews about Darphin while there are more consistent reviews about Decleor.
2. Those who didn't like Darphin was due to it causing them to break out (a risk I generally don't want to take)
3. SAs like to recommend Darphin a whole lot more than Decleor
4. Darphin is a whole lot more pricey than Decleor.
I also find there is no way I'll use up my Essential Balm (30mL). I bought it 2 weeks ago and it's still sitting around unopened because there is still a lot in the sample I got (the SA cut a big piece out of the tester for me). I was also told that Darphin's purifying is the equivalent to Decleor's essential in terms of what it's supposed to do. I was surprised as I thought it would be the equivalent of Ylang Ylang. But in all honesty I found the Essential more "purifying" than the Ylang Ylang, but it's strong and since I use the YY oil I only use the Essential once in a while when I feel like my skin needs it. |
