Recently, I've discovered that there is a patch of skin near the tip of my nose that is always red. Like not super red, just kind of pink? Kind of how the skin looks when there is a cystic pimple about to be formed. I keep pressing on it, but it isn't a pimple or anything ... just an area that is a little red. It worsens after exfoliation and I can't seem to figure out what it is or how to get rid of it?
Anyone have something similar with their skin? Anyone know of any product that can help? Thanks so much,

Sun damage can lead to red patches on the nose and you can temporarily use a cortisone cream. I had one and that's what my derm prescribed to speed the healing but don't overdo it as it can lead to a cycle of abuse and thinner skin. But I would recommend having it checked by a dermatologist just to be sure it isn't something more serious if it does not go away in a couple of weeks. |

Hi s70princess,
Does the red skin occur after sunburn and exercise?
I have similar skin as yours but the red skin is usually under the eyes and besides the nose and they are very itchy. At first, my family doctor thought that it's acne but after a specialist examined, it's rosacea. Rosacea is also called adult acne, as the symptoms of both are very similar. The ways to treat acne and rosacea are completely different. You are better to consult with your doctor first. |

Hi jn1234 ... thx for the info, I used to have very bad acne in my teens, under control now in my 20s with birth control pills and various other drugs over the years, eg. accutane, ect. So far, I noticed the redness especially after shower or using face scrub ... I started to suspect it might be rosacea too, but I guess I won't know for sure unless I get it examined. If it does turn out to be, hopefully it won't be too difficult to treat. |

Hi s70Princess I was reading your post and wondered if you still have that slight redness you mentioned here in May.
That sounds very similar to what I have had for awhile.
For me anyway,it seems like in winter my nose gets susceptible to extreme cold and in the summer my nose is susceptible to heat for sure.
Right now I am debating going to the dermatologist for it.
My nose looks very normal indoors-skin color is normal-texture is normal but when I go out or in any light I see (but no one else would unless they really look close up)there is a distinct small light patch of pinkish that comes out.
If yours is still there have you put any cortisone or anything else on yours to help?
Thanks |
