Neither of those, but I use organic coconut oil on my body, and it's definitely moisturizing. |

I use coconut oil on my hair a few times a week before washing. It makes my hair stronger and shinier. |

I use Coconut Oil for frying as it is excellent for use at high temperatures, in fact I mainly use in cooking for cooking meats.
Coconut oil is good for anyone who is on a diet, I was reading about some farmers who discovered Coconut Oil was inexpenive and decided to bulk out the Cattle feed with copious amounts of Coconut Oil to try and get the cows as fat as possible. Only the Cows became extremely lean!!
Last year I was eating Coconut Oil with every meal and shed over half a stone!!
As I didn't need to lose the weight I had to cut my intake right back, basically it reduces fat and makes you leaner.....although no good for breast size!! |

rosebud there could very well be some science behind what you said about coconut oil. The oil is high in medium chain fatty acids and I can recall my husband took supplements of these to help provide energy for endurance workouts. I forget the logic behind it but I believe that your body does not store MCFAs but will burn them right up for energy. |

I use coconut oil in cooking it adds a nice flavor and may have some health benefits.
Several times I've used it topically don't
know that it did anything. It is a solid but melts easily mine is from Spectrum Naturals from my health food store. |

I use it to cook and also for a moisturizer but not on my face as it's too heavy for my skin.
It adds a nice flavor to cooking and I will also stream a little on my cats's food as a rare treat. They love it and it's good for them. |

Just want to clarify that you guys are using raw, virgin coconut oil, corrent?
Just for some who might read this and think traditional hydrogenated, which is like death incarnate |

I love cooking with coconut oil. It's also handy when you're in the kitchen and your hands get dry from washing, you can use the same oil you're cooking with to moisturize, and it smells yummy!
It's also supposed to be anti-viral and anti-microbial, hence it helps with candida.
I like to spread it on my toast. |

I could go on forever about how much I love virgin organic coconut oil. I use both refined (has no coconut smell) and unrefined (has coconut smell) for cooking and the unrefined for hair and skin.
It's high in lauric acid, the most important essential fatty acid in building and maintaining the body’s immune system. When it's digested it goes straight to your liver and gets converted into energy.
I could totally feel a difference in my metabolism and energy right away when I first started using it.
This stuff is powerful and you may want to start off in small doses and gradually work your way up. |

Do you guys like/use coconut creme (concentrate) also? My mom bought me two jars of the Tropical Traditions oil awhile back and also a jar of the creme. It's very nice eaten by the spoonfull and makes sort of like coconut "chips" in smoothies when it reacts to my frozen banana.
I also made some wicked fudge over the weekend with cacao nibs, agave nectar, coconut creme and cashews. MmMmmMmmmm =) |

thanks for all your replys on letting me know how you use it, i tried it on my face and body last night it is really good for my body its Virgin Cocount oil the one i have brought though as i have very senstive skin i think it may have been a bit to much for my face for it as i woke up this morning and face bit red and hot. I do think its great stuff going to be using for my hair soon too.
I have also got the book on it and it definely has mentioned you can lose weight on it, Im under weight as it is and dont really want to lose any so im going to try it for cooking but not use much, Hoping my skin on my face wont react to it orally, Anyone think it would have the same effect taking it orally to cause my face irrated again?
Can you take a tea spoon of it or does everyone generally do it for just cooking when taking it orally? |

Hi Sarah,
It's hard to say what will happen with your skin if you take the c.o. orally. You'll probably be fine though. It's pretty rare for people to be sensitive to it.
You can take just a teaspoon. People do eat it by itself. I used to do this but I love cooking with it so much now that I don't eat it alone any more. |
