But alas! I was not.
I have been breaking out like mad lately, worse than I have been in years and years and could not for the life of me figure out why. Then I realized that I started using the DHCM and then DHCC about three weeks ago.
For some reason, I think it's probably due to the CC moreso than the CM. What do you all think? At this rate, I honestly can't be sure I'll keep up the CC anymore. This is a horrible breakout that has been lasting for over a week now. |

i am also breaking out/purging when i started using dhcc last week.. but its been clearing up a bit --but i have been doing a lot of masks so maybe thats why.. maybe do some more exfoliation and masks while your skin is getting used to dhcc. i also think the dhcc is making me a bit oily or leaves a bit of an oily film behind after rinse.. anyone else have this? |

My face feels kinda "filmy" afterwards.
I've read all the posts and even though I'm breaking out a bit I'm going to keep using it...give the tube the full go ahead.
I have a tendency to freak out if my skin changes in the least little bit...without really giving products a chance to work. I think that it takes time for skin to get used to stuff (I've heard a month) and if it's clearing out my pores, that's good right?
I know that when I did Retin A in high school it actually said that I would break out a bit worse before finally getting better, and they were right. I kept on it though and my skin cleared beautifully after a few weeks.
I know that many people have success with DHCC, and that not EVERYTHING works for EVERYBODY, but I think due to its raving fans, I at least owe my pocketbook a good ol' try on the entire tube (or most of it anyway). |

It took my skin quite a while to get fully accustomed to the DHCC. I don't recall a period of constant break-outs; for me it was more like a sustained spell of periodic break-outs. (Before I discourage anyone, however, I should note that I introduced a whole new skincare regimen all at once: cleanser, toner, moisturizer, cosmetics, the works. Plus, I chose some of the wrong products at the outset, which I'm sure exacerbated things.)
With regard to the oily skin feeling, yes, I definitely noticed that as well. Now that I've been using DHCC for about two years, my sense of how it feels is completely different. Now, my skin just feels moist and lush post cleansing, not oily. I don't know whether my skin has truly adjusted to the product or whether it's just that my sense of what clean skin feels like has changed. |

Well, I'm glad to hear that I am not alone. But I do think that I am going to cut back a bit on the DHCC and add in a bit more exfoliation. I am going out of town with my husband's family this weekend and find this breakout to be quite the inconvenience!
I don't think I get the oily feeling after using it though. My skin just feels soft.

I had a similar reaction to DHCC, only used a sample, no horrible breakout but I did feel the tendency. Later I switched to Jurlique wash cream, much better result for me. If you think it's the oily film causing the problem, you may wanna try the Jurlique version. |

Does the Jurlique version exfoliate like DHCC? |

I tried DHCC a couple of times, and immediately broke out from it. It definitely left a film on my face. This is not purging. The DHCC has lots of oils in it, some of which are comedogenic if I recall correctly (is one of them wheatgerm oil??). Plus there are no surface active chemicals in it to remove dirt& oil from the skin (like a soap does). I've read recomendations that users of DHCC (or a "cleansing oil method") should follow up with a regular cleanser that has the surface active chemicals that can break up and remove dirt & oil...this will prevent breakouts. The people who will have the least problems using DHCC alone would be drier skinned individuals who don't use makeup foundations. |

Wawa, is the Jurlique cream that you speak of more like the DHCC and not the DHCM? For the moment, I am just doing the DHCM and I wouldn't mind adding something else to the mix for deeper cleansing/exfoliating.
Thanks! |

I use the Jurlique version and it doesn't leave a film of oil like the DHCC. But as others have advised me you should use a cleanser before doing DHCC so you don't press the sebum back into your skin. If you do use a cleanser beforehand I think the DHCC should leave less of an oil film on your face if any at all. Because for me after I started on the cleansing I found Jurlique leaves my face just a tad dry (it's very slight, it's not enough to make me tight, but it's a bit on the dry side) so whatever cleanser you use make sure it's super light and not a heavy "for oily skin" one that strips your skin of your oils. FYI I have used DHCC and was using it before Jurlique but I prefer Jurlique much better. Using a wash cloth also helps get rid of the oily film.

I had the same problem myself with the DHCC, my breakouts lasted for a few weeks & I assume this is because my skin was sooo congested! I ended up getting quite a few white heads on my chin mostly , these eventually all cleared up & my skin is now much clearer & smoother. |

You brave souls who tough it out with products really impress me. I tried the DHCC one time and it wreaked havoc on my face. It took me days to repair the damage from the clogged pores, whiteheads, and breakouts it caused with only 1 use! I so wanted to LOVE it, but I HATED it. I did not have the time or courage to press on. (Instead of pressing on with the pressing and rolling, I rolled over and gave up immediately!) |

I have been using the DHCC for a about 3 weeks and everytime I use it I break out in tiny little whiteheads immediately after I use it. Not too many though, I guess I will tough it out. I am also experiencing a little redness everytime I use it. Does anybody else get redness when using the CC? |

I'm still going to finish my tube of DHCC (glutton for punishment maybe?)
If I'm still not satisfied, I'm definately going to throw a small tube of the Jurlique cream in my next order and give that a try.
I've also introduced a whole new line of products and my poor face is probably very confused right now.
But when you discover EDS for the first time, its hard to control yourself and not buy all the wonderful products everyone recommends.
I do realize it will be hit and miss, and just because it works for someone doesn't mean it will work for me, but darn it all I'm gonna try! |
