So I received my night cream and I'm very grateful for a free gift and everything, but I've wondered in the other post about whether it seriously has sunscreens right up the front of the ingredients listing
Ingredients: Demineralized spring water, olive oil, glycerine, oxtylmethoxycinnimate, oxybenzone, alpha lipoic acid
I've PMed Ian, I've emailed the company asking if it's true or a mistake and why it's there and I get one back today saying that's right there are UVA/UVB sunscreens in it, but no answer to why they are there.
Oxybenzone is quite an ugly chemical too. I read when it absorbs energy as it's sun protection function it also creates free radicals. Plus there is a question of absorbancy. A study published in the Lancet "significant amounts of oxybenzone is absorbed by the human skin and subsequently excreted in the urine"

Luckily we're not using during the daytime so it probably doesn't cause free radicals. But why on earth is that and the octylmethoxycinnamate there at all?
I know it's a free gift, but JB get a lot of traffic from EDS and maybe people should be aware of this.
Anyway my jar's still sealed. I don't think I want ss chemicals on my face at night.
Would you be happy using this or not? Any ideas on the reasoning behind this?

Thanks for this warning Molly
At first, my only concern was the Mineral oil...

Molly: Great post! I just received my free bottle of this yesterday and I noticed the exact same thing!! I have no idea why those chemical sunscreens would be in there....my first thought was that maybe it was an error on the label and that is why they were giving them away for free??? I can see them adding these in the daytime version but not in the night time.... |

while it is in the cream how many of us had problems using ADCE day and night? I know I didn't. I would prefer it wasn't in a night cream it doesn't put me off as like I wrote, it was in their ADCE which I've used morning and night. |

Hi all
Just to update you. I just got a reply to my PM to Ian and he says it's just a typo so it doesn't contain sunscreens.
My previous email was from Malayna confirming it did, but maybe she just checked the bottle - I don't know.
So I guess it doesn't contain them then. M |

I also emailed JB regarding the ingredients. I hope that Ian replys to this post to clear things up. Good eye Molly. I just like the way the product responds to my skin and overlooked the ingredient. |

Hi Lily, my first assumption was it must have been a mistake, but then it's the same on their website too. I was still hoping it was a mistake because I'd really like an ALA boost.
I just used it for the first time last night and I must say it does feel good and soothing and quite firming.
Ian, can I ask if you drop by, what percentage of ALA and DMAE you have in this?
Thanks Molly |

The product does not contain any spf's. This was a error as we are introducing 3 new items. One of which has a spf 40 and is called Sun Block Daytime Moisturizer. This box was rolled out around the same time the others were set into place. In the future the packaging will be changed and the web site is now changed. Any further questions please do not hesitate to call or e-mail. The other items are a day cream called Alpha Lipoic Acid, Vitamin C Ester & DMAE Moisturizing Day Cream, and a cellulite item called Profile which is very unique in the method which we approach the cellulite removal. All of these items are going to be available in the next day or so. I hope this answered your questions and if we can be of any further assistance please contact us.
Thank you,
Ian S

Ok great now I'm excited to use it...
For Tretinoin users, how do we incorporate this at night? I am used to applying tretinoin on a clean washed face. Then do we apply this?! |

Hi Joziegrozy - I believe that's the way.
It's beautifully calming on the skin, must be the ALA so that would go great after Tretinoin, but I should warn you, even on me it's a little cloggy. Maybe test a patch first. |
