Okay, still battling with this ugly rash on my forehead. Raised, itchy out of control, hiding at home rash. Originally my derm thought it was from my Cetaphil, or an allergic reaction to something I brushed up against...going on 5 weeks now and I demanded to be seen again. He now states that he thinks this is Rosacea? Okay, I have done some homework on this and can someone who has this tell me, is Rosacea raised bumps that come to a head, then can subside itch like crazy crazy...split open (wounds) and then will not be raised at times? Maybe, but now he has me on minocycline, which I understand is an oral antibotic, but only because I pushed the issue and told him his steroid cream was not working, in fact it made it red and more itchy. He said it was working the way it should. Now being a derm, he must get all kinds of cases where people are depressed about their skin and hiding like me. Wouldn't you think? Well I am very depressed, hiding and skipping work because I don't want to be seen, and he said "what are you talking about"....What do you think about what he has prescribed? I am not going back to him none the less. Thanks in advance |

I am very sorry you have been going through this for 5 weeeks!!!
I have rosacea and my rosacea has never acted like you describe.
It sounds like an allergic reaction ~ FWIW, and I am not involved in the medical profession in any way, this is just from personal experience:
Oral prednisone for 10 days prescribed by a doctor, normally starts with a higher dose and then tapers off for 10 days.
Oral antibiotic, but stronger than what you have been prescribed, for 10 days to prevent infection.
Steroid creams should not be used for longer than 5 days.
Gentle cleanser, basic moisturizer, pretty much very simple skin care.
