Has anyone ever noticed in most before and after pics you never see the full face, in the before you can't see that they are smiling real big to exaggerate the lines and in the after they arent, wala lines gone. |

yes. sometimes both ppl look astonishingly different with like smaller facial frames and jaw lines and everything, but still the same person (if you know what I mean). I dont go by those, I make sure someone personally tells me it worked for them and HOW. |

Most of those pictures have a whole difference colour tone in them if you look closely. I don't trust those, for all you know the after pictures have makeup on. |

... like the weight loss/exercise ones where before they are standing slumped and with their belly "let loose" and in the "after" they are standing up straight and tall, shoulders right back and belly held in. ya. right. |

Hey now.. We're all sposed to be stupid and easily fooled, or didn't you get the memo...LOL
I have seen some that seem to try to show you the same person in the same way, but those a few and far between... For the most past, it's so obvious, changes have been made in the before and after... |

I always look for this trick in before and after photos. To me it's so obvious. When a person smiles, their whole face scrunches up, especially the eyes. They close up and they have more life in them. That's me. When I smile I look 38, when I don't, I look 19. They should hire me. Ha! I could never do something so deceiving. It's a huge annoyance but that's marketing for you. |

I guess,............................................................................................................................................... I'm the stupid one who believed them and bought their merchandise. I bought dermaroller, oxylight, and nulase because of the before and after pictures. |

I don't get sold on the before and afters as much as the refund policy. That Canadian Shopping Channel gets me everytime with that 30 day money back guarantee. |

MACrisis, I hope you didn't take offense to what I said.. If you did, I sincerely apologize! I've bought lots of things, tho not all because of the photos... I don't believe that they are all 'fixed'... There are some great products out there, that really do use honest before and afters...
I was ONLY meaning the ones where it's SOOOOOOOO obvious that they have been retouched or whatever... |

The best is when they do some sort of cream or something, and the before picture is a lady without makeup and frowning, the after picture shows her with makeup (subtle, but still makeup) which makes a huge difference.
There are some before and after pictures that I honestly can't tell what the product was supposed to do.
It's like one of those "guess what's different in these two pictures" and sometimes I just can't see it, which makes me not want to buy the product! |

If a company has before and after photos and it seems that the photos are rigged (before photo no makeup and harsh lighting etc and after photo with makeup and sublte lighting etc) then I DO NOT buy the product. If they have to rig the photos then the product is a dud. |

Ah, yes, the "halo" photos.. like in the movies or on TV when the "starlet" has to have the enhanced lighting... Nothing cracks me up more than the "mug shot" vs. the "glamour photo".
Kiki, I doubt MAC would have been offended, I will bet that at some point in our cosmetic consuming lives ALL of us were won over by a photo (even those of us who know better now) |

Well I know I've been suckered in the past by before and after shots. Actually a couple of times Thank God I'm a "little" older and a lot wiser now! |

My husband (who is in sales) refers to me as a salesperson's dream. I often sell myself on something-the sales person dosen't even have to open her mouth...so naive, always have been. |

MACrisis - I don't see this as being "stupid". I think you just have a really trusting nature, and believe people are just as trustworthy as you are. Unfortunately, as we all know, this is not always the case! |

Oh yeah, I've seen many a before and after photo and been tempted to buy the product! Even though sometimes it IS obvious something doesn't quite seem right. I think I've seen alot that also look legit, but you're right ... many times in the after they have a different facial expression which is helping to smooth out any lines, etc. |

I will say pictures don't tend to suck me in so much as they hype. So God Bless all you ladies, at least I am now buying the tried and true instead of the sales pitch. Ok I still (mumbles) get suckered some, but I am soo much better at those urges. |

I even thought the Jan Marini eyelash ad on EDS was questionable. Looked like the lashes were not curled in the before and were in the after. So I had to take my own and not curl them at all so you all could see for sure. that is why I take photos b/c I know how much I would appreciate it if I could see that before I purchase, especially an expensive product like JM. |
