How protecting is a moisturiser with SPF 30 in it?
I am thinking of getting
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/peter-thomas-roth-max-she-p_950.htm
Will it be ok even when I am in the sun e.g. sightseeing or should I get a sunblock for those days. I am olive skinned but like keeping my skin young looking!
I have always used a PTR moisturiser with sunscreen (SPF 20) but on days when I'm out in the sun I use a sunblock like Darphin, Dermalogica or Clinique but on the whole find these block my pores. So I'm just wandering whether upgrading my PTR moisturiser would be ok or maybe I will get a PTR sun block as well.
Thanks! |

I am not familiar with the product you have mentioned but I have only ever used a moisturiser with SPF30 in the hot Australian sun and have never suffered sunburn so I guess it is sufficient. |

SPF 30 blocks out about 97% of the UV lights. SPF 15 blocks out about 93%. so as long as it's SPF 15 or 30, you'll be fine in terms of skin health. The main difference is that SPF 30 will last twice as long as 15, ie. SPF 30 will last for probably 10 hours while 15 lasts for 5 hours. Get products with titanium oxide, avobenzone. Those block UVA rays. A lot of products don't block the UVA rays, but it's the UVA rays that actually cause wrinkles I personally LOVE neutrogena's Dry Touch SPF 30 sunblock, because it goes on like a normal sunscreen but then it turns out to be matte! which is great cuz most sunscreens are so oily! and you don't need SPF 45 or 60, those are more greasy and will block your pores and they last for like 15-20 hours. but seriously, the sun won't be out for 15-20 hours anyway :P hope that helps! |
