I'm thinkingof buying some Eve Lom cleanser which promises miracles. But before I spend a small fortune on it I wondered if anyone had used it? Any good?
Thanks |

You could make a search for EL-cleanser here in EDS - you'll find lots of post about it. from me as well : i've been using & loving it since years but now i'm on search for something else (but similar) without the petrochemicals in it. |

I liked it in the beginning but it dried me out in the long run. Also the muslim cloth ended up to be to rough for my face. I was hoping it would clear my pores but no luck. |

I had a large size jar and liked it, though did not use every night. I found it cleaned really well and got the gunk out of my nose pores (maybe that was the cloth or massage though). Because of the mineral oil and yukky additives in it, I am not repurchasing.
Some other balm-like cleansers I am going to try are The Organic Pharmacy Carrot Cleanser, Burt's Bees Orange Essence Cleanser, Neal's Yard Rose Balm Cleanser. Someone here mentioned a couple of toehr UK companies that do balm-like cleansers, but I forget the names.
They are all more natural and should have the same consistency to enable a lovely massage and warm muslin cloth removal. |

I used Eve Lom for a few months about a year ago. I also stopped because of concerns about some of the ingredients. It is a good cleanser, it is also, at least to my mind, an exceptionally expensive cleanser, but a jar does last a long time.
If it had worked miracles on my skin, I would have found it hard to give up despite the price and the ingredients. It was good, but I did not find it difficult to move on to something else. As it is, I went through a series of less expensive, more natural products, and ended up with the Dr. H line, which I love. My skin is far happier today with my current routine than it was when I was using the Eve Lom cleanser, but that could just be me.
So, I would say, yes, it is a good cleanser, I think it is definitely superior to the inexpensive cleansers that I have tried (it left my skin feeling really clean without feeling stripped), but may not be the ultimate cleanser. Of course, so much depends on your individual skin and I know for some people it is the cleanser, obviously not for me. |

I am one of the people who thought this was THE cleanser to end all cleansers. The only two reasons I did not repurchase were the fact that I discovered the full ingredients and did not like everthing that was in it and I got annoyed by the hard crystal-rock thingys that formed in the jar before finished. It was a pain to pluck them out before massaging the balm onto the face. I do still think it cleanses exceptionally well and leaves the skin soft and smooth and I found I did not even need additional moisture after it. |

Hmmmm, thanks. I didn't realise it had all those nasty things in it - don't really fancy all those petrochemicals! Anyone using anything equally fab at cleansing but natural. Dr H Cleansing milk OK CC does nothing for me but want this kind of effect that everyone else has with it! What do you o with the muslin cloth thing? Could this be done with other cleansers? |

Agree on this one. After doing some research, my next target is either The Organic Pharmacy Carrot Cleanser, or Neal's Yard Cleanser.

pips, yes, the muslin cloth works well with other balm cleansers or even cleansing oils. I cannot wait for summer to end so I can get some NY Rose balm sent over. |

I don't want to miss my muslin cloth either. I became a cleanser and scrub fetishist... Next i'm going to try the cream cleansers from Calmia and Kosmea. |

I had a thread recently on this asking for advice. See
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=130356#130356
I am now using Amanda Lacey. I am waiting another week and then I will do a proper product review as well as a comparison versus Eve Lom.
I would say that if it's just the money issue, Eve Lom is definitely worth it. It may seem expensive but she seems to be one of the few companies who are not trying to sell you other products to complement your routine, her philosophy is really use the cleansing balm and only use other stuff if you still need it. Still if you just don't have the money which is understandable (unless you have a concaine habit), I would recommend Liz Earle instead.
It really depends on your skin type, if my skin was not prone to congestion, I would use Organic Pharmacy or perhaps Neals Yard but whilst my skin is normal/dry not oily, it just can't tolerate anything heavy. Eve Lom really works as a decongestant.
As you can see from my thread, the only reason I had any problem with Eve Lom was the petrochemical stuff. Since then, I talked to my great facialist about this issue and her opinion was the petrochemicals on the balm didn't matter as you were taking it straight off not leaving it on the skin. |

I am new to Eve lom and I love it.
I used it once or twice a week as more dries out my skin. |
