Does anybody knows whether SKII products can cause allergies to our skin?

Hi Hartini,

If by 'allergies' you mean that your skin reacts to the product in some way (i.e. rash or something like that) then it's possible. It really depends on your skin. Some people can react to even the gentlest of products.

I'm probably not the best indication because I don't have sensitive skin but I have not had any adverse reactions to the Facial Treatment Essence (used as a mask - not daily). I do find that I am getting some flaky skin afterwards though, but I have not been using it for all that long yet.

I am sampling some of the products now and have not had a problem and I am highly reactive and sensitive. This doesn't mean you will not have a reaction. There are other threads here about the SK-II line so you may want to do a search.

Hi, thank you for the reply. Actually I've just bought the Essence and Mask. I got no problem when using the mask. But when I used the Essence, my skin reacts with itchness, redness like rashes and tingling sensation. I then just wash off with water. I've never experience this before with other products. Is it because I used it too much? (3 drops)

Hm, that is strange as the mask itself contains a higher percentage of PITERA , so if you find it works okay on you but " the essence" doesn't..( which is also Pitera) then it could be you are sensitive to some other ingredient in it. I never have problem with both , in fact they calms my skin down and help with skin renewal. I use more that 3 drops per time ( I just pour the essence into the palm of my hand) and drench my skin with it...
If you keep having the same irritation, do stop using this..or try to wait 5 minutes after you cleansed and toned before using the essence. HTH Smile

Hi Ling, thanks for your reply. Anyway which country are you from? My time is 12noon here. Did you use the whole set of SKII (cleanser , toner etc)? I used different brand of cleanser and toner from Australia (Sanden Brooks). Ever heard of the product? I just bought the essense and mask, only one mask for trial. Can different branch cause the reaction?

Hi..Smile it is almost 1 here. By the way, did you get your sk II off the counter?? There are many fakes ones around with similar packaging up to the details so I hope you gotten yours from the SK II counters. I was its user for the past 3 years, love it, and it is the ONLY skincare that I sticked with and used up for years . I use its essence, cleanser and its sign treatment, whitening source ( this was a late addition to my regime ). I found that the products helps calm my hormonal chin breakout and my skin did appear brighter with usage but soon after years of using these my skin kinda get used to it and I myself are tired of using the same skincare for years ( which rarely happened) and so now I am switching brands ( still experimenting). I still keep on using the " essence" though..and I love the MASK...( but it is very $$$$ so I stopped buying it for the moment). I never heard of the brand you use before, but does the toner contains alchohol?? Different brands shouldn't give you reaction ( I used different cleanser when I just started SK II, and rarely used its toner) but there is a possibilty if the toner or the cleanser you are using now is too harsh and then with the additional of PITERA your skin couldn't take it (?). Pitera helps with the skin renewal, it speeds up your renewal process in a gentle way.

HTH ?

Hi Ling. Where are you from? I did bought the product at their counter and you are damn right that the products are expensive.

Anyway, can I use the essence without using the toner first? I've also gave my feed back to the counter via phone and they said that I can exchange the essence with mask. I do find other booth selling this SKII product with cheaper price and they said that it was reject item because of the packaging and they also sell the mask for RM60.00 containing 10 masks per box. But from the counter only 6 masks per box pricing RM235.00 per box. Dont know whether the product are genuine or not.

Hi...Are you from KL also? ( since you use RM as the pricing). Never heard that different counters have different pricing ( are they both SK II counters?) and supposedly they aren't allowed to sell any reject items over the counter so better don't get that Smile. It is alright not to use a toner , I personally never bought their full size toner ( my toners was from their GWP and I rarely used much them anyway), but make sure your cleanser isn't a harsh type. Dear Ling, I'm from Seremban. But I bought the product from Sogo. The cheaper one I found are at KLCentral booth. It is not SKII counter but the booth was selling other brand also e.g. Chanel, CD etc lipsticks. I only bought the chanel lip gloss though. Cost RM18.
