I have combo skin with occasion breakouts. Trying to find a good toner. If anyone can suggest any, I'd appreciate it.
TIA |

I have combo skin too. Dr. Hauschka clarifying toner is nice. I believe that one can't be continually used though. I was told to switch it to the regular Dr. H toner after I finished the bottle. I've seen a lot of good reviews for apple cider vinegar. I didn't like it. It made my eyes sting. I've also seen good reviews for witch hazel. In the past I have used Lancome Tonique Douceur, which doesn't do any harm. And, I've tried samples of Bobbi Brown toner - which felt lovely. |

I like witch hazel and do switch off using it and clearsil 3 day. I find that the clearasil does not dry out my skin, but gives just enough SA to keep my blemishes at bay |

My two current faves are Dr. H's regular toner (love the smell, the fine mist, and how it gently but effectively removes any lingering residue), and Zenbiotic's Oxytoner (super mild!!). I also sometimes just use Caudalie's Grape Water if my skin is feeling particularly sensitive. |

Hi!
I do not use a toner. I use a cream cleanser by Ice Elements that has a build in toner ingredient that ph balances the skin.
It is great to be able to skip that step, especially since I learned that I was stripping my face with the toners that I was using and they were causing blackheads! I thought that a deep cleansing toner would help to pull the blackheads out... my bad!
Anyway... I just wanted to throw this out there as an idea for you.
Take care.

I "third" the Dr. Hauschka toner.
Yes many toners do strip your skin of natural oils and in the end create more pimples and blackheads but the Dr. H ones (there are two kinds) do not. They are made to balance the skin. |

Hi Anna!
I have heard a lot of good things about the Dr. H products, but even those toners that work to just PH balance are too much for me... so I figured I would throw the "no toner" idea out there, just in case.
Take care. |

I use a toner from True Radiance ebay store because of its firming and anti aging properties. I paid 13.95 for 8 ounces "buy it now". This is a quote from the site:
AHA SKIN FIRMING TONER
This is an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) solution that is formulated to help refine pores, remove superficial dead skin cells, assist with tightening the skin to leave the skin smooth, clean, clear and firmer. True Radiance toner is made from natural products its very refreshing and soothing. It is unopened 8 ounce bottle of toner. It is most appropriate for normal to oily skin. Compare this to PCA (Physicians choice of Arizona)#2 toner and you will see what a great deal it is!
Pepha Tight® is a highly purified biotechnological produced algae extract that is combined with a fraction of polysaccharides. The main constituents are polysaccharides, amino acids and vitamins. It contains Vitamin C which is an effective antioxidant and Vitamin B12, responsible for the formation of cells. Pepha Tight is a two in one skin tightener that provides a perceptible instant tightening effect on the skin and acts also on the long term basis, protecting the skin cells from oxidative stress and stimulates the formation of collagen-1 and supports the enhancement of the connective tissue.
Dmae is a natural occurring substance. Small amounts of DMAE are produced in the brain however, Dmae levels decrease with age. Applied topically, clinical studies show DMAE to have an immediate skin firming effect. It is very effective to prevent facial sagging. Within minutes it will begin to firm, tighten and tone the skin. DMAE or Dimethylaminedthanol works on the muscles of your face that firm and tighten your skin.
Lactic acid which is an alpha hydroxy acid that exfoliates cells on the surface of skin by breaking down the material that holds them together. It also assists to hydrate and smooth dry, flaking skin. Since AHA's penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin, it has great anti-wrinkle and anti-aging benefits.
Green Tea extract is a powerful antioxidant that protects the skin against the damaging effects of free radicals which are responsible for the skin aging process. Green tea stimulates the natural hydrating mechanism of the skin and acts as a natural sun filter. Also it has astringent properties which cleans well but doesn't have the drying effects that alcohol has.
Citric Acid is derived from citrus and is used to adjust the ph of products. And it's also a natural preservative.
Reverse Osmosis Water
Feel free to contact me about your skin concerns I am a R.N. at hospital & Skin laser clinic.
Directions: After cleansing, moisten a cotton pad with a small amount of toner and apply in upward and outward strokes over the face and neck. Use once, twice or as needed |

Obagi's toner is great and it is fairly reasonable in price too. It's worth trying. |

Another vote for Dr H clarifying toner! I generally don't use a toner, but when I do this one is my fav, especially during summer. However during winter I quite like Guerlain's Moisturising Mallow Toner, which really leaves your skin smooth & hydrated, especially when you use it after a moisturising mask.

Dr Hauschka Toner is pure indulgence, well worth the money for the scent alone |
