Quite disappointed to the result. The color is not so obvious. Also, lengthing and volume result is also not so obvious too. |

Hi Gelc,
Apart from the mascara not adding obvious length and volume, how do you rate it? I'm just wondering if it smudges or flakes etc? I'm always on the lookout for new mascaras (current fave is the Clarins curling one in purple) and I don't really need the length or the volume. "Wine" sounds like a lovely colour though I can imagine that it wouldn't show up much. I have not yet found a colour mascara that shows the actual colour too much. The Clarins one is the best one so far in that department - you still don't see the colour but at certain angles you do get that slightly plummy tone to your lashes.
Have you tried other colour mascaras? If so, how does this one compare?

Mabsy, I used to use a colored mascara that really was dramatic. It was by Trucco and it was red. I mean RED. Everyone noticed my lashes. |

Wow! I can't imagine how red lashes would actually look.... Is that brand still available?

Hi Mabsy,
If 10 is full marks, I'll give 3 only. Only for the coloring effect. I can't see my lashes changed to wine (purple) color.
Maybe the coloring effect would be much more obvious when you stand below sun.
I heard that the coloring effect of Anna Sui is quit good. But, I haven't try it. Maybe I'll try it later.
I also love my lashes becoming very long and volume just like a doll. Also, I love change my lashes in special color like red, purple, green.
Long long time ago, I tried Shu Umuera mascara. It light green color is great. But I don't know do they sell this color now. |

Mabsy, I'm not sure if the Trucco mascara is available anymore. I bought it a year ago. Actually my hair stylist at the time got it for me at a beauty supply store where they only sell to you if you have a beautician license. I was under the impression it was getting discontinued, but I could be wrong. You could probably find it on the world wide web somewhere |

Thanks Thoughtcrime! I found the Trucco mascaras online but just in Black, Jet Black and Brown. They might have discontinued all the funky colours...

Hi Gelc
I totally agree with you, not impressed with JI's mascaras though I haven't tried Wine. For the price, I will spend a little extra and go for one of the European brands. Hope it hasn't discouraged you from some of her other offerings, though! |
