I think the folks at Dr. Hauschka have been reading my mind! I've been using Dr. H products for about 2 years, and the only criticism that I've ever had is that the line is limited in some respects, especially in the area of lipsticks. While I love Dr. H lipstick, I'd been longing for something more sheer. I'd hit upon a workaround--using the lipliner in combination with the lip balm--but that wasn't very convenient for touch-ups on the subway, for instance.
When I saw that Dr. H had introduced a lipgloss and that EDS was carrying it, I couldn't wait to get my hands on one. I ordered shade number 04 (cherry), and I adore everything about it. The color is perfect; it enhances my naturally rather red lips but is wonderfully subtle. The texture is smooth and silky feeling. The effect is sheer--very much like a slightly colored version of the lip balm. I noticed no real flavor, and the scent is pleasant.
For those who are label readers (like me), the ingredient list follows. (Note: the lip gloss DOES contain lanolin, so it's not for vegans.)
Castor Oil (Ricinus Commumis), Lanolin (from sheep's wool), Apricot Oil (Prunus Armeniaca), Anthyllis Vulneria, Cetyl Alcohol (plant-based), Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Candelilla wax (Candelilla Cera), Mango butter (Mangifera Indica), Parfum (from natural essential oils), Linalool*, Benzyl Benzoate*, Farnesol*, Limonene*, Geraniol*, Benzyl Salicylate*, Beeswax (Cera Flava), Sea Buckthorn Oil (Hippophae Rhamnoides), [+/- silica, tin oxide, Cl 77891, Cl 75470, Cl 77491, Cl 77499, Mica] * from natural essential oils |

I've read some positive reviews of this and until recently I wasn't even aware that they make lipgloss! It sounds really nice and I'm sure I'll be trying it soon. Thanks! |

I have the gloss in that bubble gum pink shade, it was miles better than most glosses in terms of 'taste' and 'scent', but I find that it always leaves my lips feeling very gritty afterwards.. even if I exfoliate. |

Miranets, do you have the Rose (01) shade? Does it actually show up pink on your lips or is it more translucent--just adding some gloss to your natural lip color? I haven't noticed any grittiness with this gloss, but I have noticed it in other products with bees wax.
Mabsy, this is actually the product that brought me to EDS. My old online source for Dr. Hauschka (Beautyhabit) didn't carry it, so I was searching around for someone who did. When I saw how much lower EDS's prices were, I knew I'd found a new source to feed my skincare * spam alert *! |

Shano, now that I've checked it is the 01 shade.
My lips are naturally darker shade, so this only has a shine + translucent effect.
Now that I think about it, because it is winter here some of the ingredients may be a bit gritty due to temperature, I have the same problem with my Decleor YY balm too. |
