oh boy....good luck.
I had mine out over Christmas break 2 years ago. I didn't think it'd be that bad because all of them had started to come through, so the oral surgeon didn't have to "dig" for them. I was wrong, it was one of the most awful experiences ever.
They gave me Vicodin and Darvocet and neither helped with the pain; the only thing that worked was ibuprofen, which is a last resort because it can make incisions heal slower since it's a blood thinner.
I ended up getting dry sockets and had to have this disgusting gauze shoved into the holes that numbs your gums and covers the exposed bone. It tasted like cloves and made me sick to my stomach to the point where I'd spit out my spit just so I wouldn't have to swallow it and feel sicker.
It was an awesome Christmas.
It won't be so bad as long as you don't get dry sockets; they'll tell you no straws or gum for awhile, but chewing anything can losen the blood clot, so I wouldn't eat anything for a few days, even if you feel okay. That's just me though, some people have no problems afterwards. |

I was completely out when I had my wisdom teeth out. I had all 4 removed at once (impacted). I had no pain and no swelling afterwards.
Good luck and have lots of yogurt/ice cream ready. |

I had mine done quite a while ago but I was never put on laughing gas except for one which was sort of in a tight spot. It never hurt all that much though and I only took 1-2 of the ibuprofen I got (the doc gave me a nice little bag of them though ). If you have a good doctor it shouldn't hurt much. But I remember I was always messing around with the little string from my stitching with my tongue. It was always sticking out in my mouth because the string was a bit too long. |

i had four teeth out to make room for braces when i was a teen.
Stock up on tomato soup, custard, eggnog, icecream, pudding etc. to get some nutrition while you heal...
good excuse to eat all the goodies
hope you heal fast dear |

I had 5 (yes, 5) wisdom teeth. I had 4 impacted ones removed a couple years ago.. The fifth one is waaaaay high up in my jaw and will probably never descend or cause a problem.
They knocked me out completely for it. Afterwards I woke up with a jaw full of gauze and with my mom's assitance, got back to the car. I believe I slept for about 4 hours after I got home. I don't really remember any of it except for walking into the office....
I got Vicodin afterwards... Just be sure to eat something before you take it and don't drive anywhere. If I took it on an empty stomache I would vomit (yuck). It really knocked me on my @$$ and I really didn't feel a thing. I was given a couple weeks worth so by the time I ran out the painful part of it was over.
You're brave for doing it with only Nitrous. They aren't impacted, are they? |

I had four impacted and they gave me extreme novacaine! lol it was cool though- the laughing gas i was on didn't seem to have that much of an effect - i felt like i didnt even need it during the surgery! I did hear everything, them breaking the tooth, the pushing, and the small pulls of the stitches but no pain. Really cool! and then they put gauze in my mouth and i felt light headed when i got up..
i came home and went to sleep for a little bit, just one vicodin and when i got up it was SO SORE!!! but i took a second vicodin and since that time its only been slightly sore:)
I had some soup for dinner and now i'm about to ice, but it wasn't as bad as I thought!
my doctor is so nice, he called my house and spoke to me and asked if I had any questions and told me to just keep icing. He said the worst part of any possible pain was over so I'm happy about that!
i guess i'll just keep suckin down those pills and pudding and see how I feel tomorrow!
you guys are awesome<3 |

I'd stay away from the computer, as hand-eye coordination might make you feel...weird. And don't push yourself too hard.
I remember the day I got them out. The guy who got them out before me apparently "hopped" out of the room a la bunny rabbit, so everyone else was wondering to see what I'd do. I remember not being able to feel my mouth or my tongue...I kept sticking it out and running it over my lips trying to feel it and I must have looked like a nutcase :P |
