Ok...I never thought I would consider doing one of these, but after spending time with friends over the easter hols, one of the discussions that came up was facials and spas etc, and I realised how popular these things are although for me, I would far rather try things at home due to so many things being irritant to my skin (once i took plunge and had a makeover done in a store, the sa was lovely, and the makeup looked amazing, after 30 mins though it made my skin look awful due to shine and an irritating feeling) at least if things go wrong its only me at home! Anyway, turns out one of the girls swears by the glycolic peel (at home) and I have to say, her skin did look so much better than the last time I saw her. Shes a little younger than me (im 41, shes 37) but she had quite a few acne scars and open pores, and these are lot less noticeable. She did have make up on, but as she said, she always wore it before, but now it just goes on and looks a whole lot better. The peel came from usa website, but apparently they are available in uk now. I think she applied it with a brush, leaves it a few minutes, then rinses off, applies bicarbonate of soda (!) and although there was some redness it went down quickly. Im fascinated by all this and am going to do some research, but has anyone done this procedure themselves? My friend liked idea of doing something with few ingredients for a few minutes, like me she doesnt like too many skin care products as they make her break out and cause oily shine etc. She did say that she had the kit for 2 weeks before taking the plunge to use it..she had visions of peeling skin and not being able to leave house for days, but says doing it the evening meant it had all night to calm down, and the worst thing was some flakey bits where the acne scars were, but as the rest of her skin looked so smooth in between it was worth putting up with! Sorry for rambling on, but I need to know more so any experience with these peels? |

thanks for your reply..the website is the one i found for uk supply. i do think what works for someone, might not for someone else and its so difficult to decide which products to buy. as my friend said, her skin isnt good at all. so any improvement is nice. when you have sort of ok skin anyway, its harder to make a good impression if you know what i mean? i wont rush into buying this, will do some more research! |

You may want to read my Update on Remede's 3 Minute Peel. It is either on this forum or on the product review forum - I can't remember. I had good and very scary results. However, used it again for the first time since my scary results and it seems to be working great now so maybe it was b/c it was my skin's first time with a peel. Either way, read my updated review and decide for yourself! |

I read your reviews again, I had actually read them before I do remember. What exactly is the Remede peel? You say you have dry skin, and peels are often recommended to help this but my skin is oily and so am not sure whether to go ahead with the glycolic. The uk website here seems to suggest they work for all skin types. Its all a bit confusing! Having said that, knowing someone thats done one makes me feel I want to try, just dont want to have a scary face! |

It is called Remede 3 Minute Peel. You can't get it on this site. I got mine at blissworld.com. I used it again last night for the first time and so far, no bad effects but all the good ones I previously listed. It definitely took me less time to apply my makeup and concealor this morning because it does immediately reduce the visibility of lines. I've been using Remede products for a while and, although pricey, I really like them. Some are better than others and some have cheaper counterparts out there that work just as well. But as far as the 3 minute peel goes, it is the first (of 3) peels I've used from which I could actually tell an immediate difference. Whichever way you decide to go, I would suggest testing it on a small area of your face that has more sensitive, thin skin like somewhere on your forehead. (and - if you have bangs, you can cover up any adverse reaction!). I really like the Remede - I was just shocked by the zit reaction after the 2nd use. But not so much that I didn't want to use it again. It really made that much of a difference. It's ingredientsa re:
acidified amino acids, L-abscorbic acid (Vitamin C), purified water, cellulose, urea, alcolhol, and dead sea minerals:D |
