I recently won a weekend away for two to Port Moresby at a Cyclone Larry fundraising dinner.
I am getting very mixed reactions from friends, and my husband.
Is it safe there nowadays?
Or any tips on where to go, what to do etc?
ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. Flight Centre have absolutely no information here. |

Thanks for that Lin23.
They actually had a review on the hotel we are meant to be staying at, so that was a great help.
I'm still hoping that someone here might have some "inside" info... ?? |

Deb - my friend's dad works in PNG and I know a few other people that have considered it but they keep saying it's not a safe place to be. Still, I don't know if Port Moresby is included in that.
The Aussie Govt's traveller website does not list it as a place you shouldn't go, but it lists it as needing "high degree of caution" due to high crime rates. Port Moresby is included in that.
