Rave Review: Glo Minerals
GloMinerals Base (Honey Medium)~It goes on really nice and covers like a dream. It is not shiny like BE but it does feel a little drying on the face. I slept in it one night and got a blemish (which never happens with BE). It comes with a sponge but I have been using my BE brushes and I like the application. Overall I do like this base but will probably go back to BE.
GloMinerals Concealer-Golden~LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff. I used it on my undereye area and my blemishes and not only did it stay all day it lasted through a hike and a 5 mile bike ride! It is awesome. I used it under the base. My face was flawless. LOVE IT!!! And a little goes a very long way so no need to panic about the size or price. It is really creamy but once it dries it does not crease or slide. I will definitely repurchase this one.
RANT....
I stopped into this hair salon by my house to pick up my shampoo (Kerestase) and realized that they carried GloMinerals so I asked the woman behind the desk if she could help me pick out a foundation. That's when IT HAPPENED! She said just one moment the makeup artist is here and he will be right with you. Not two seconds later this small man came running around the corner with arms flying in the air and he ran up to me and hugged me. He was...umm...lets just say WAY out of the closet (which is great bc my best friend is too) but this was OVERBOARD!!!! He sat me down in his chair and looked at me with this really disgusted look and said "are you ready for a new look"? I said NO....I'm just hear for a foundation because I don't have time to run to the mall (sephora) and pick up my BE and I have heard good things about glo minerals...." before I could finish he said "Ewhhhh" and preceded to go to the girls standing next to us and say (laughing and pointing at me) that "She wears Bare Essentials foundation". I have NO CLUE what that meant but I didn't care enough about this man's opinion to find out at this point. He begged me to let him put on some lipstick so I let him and he didn't even get CLOSE to my lip line....I looked like bozo. He tried to talk me into permanent lashes as well....yikes! I would not let this guy get NEAR me with anything permanent. Anyway...I went to the counter to pay for my products and to my surprise the woman behind the counter said $150!!! For a shampoo, base and concealer. I asked what the price was for everything and it didn't add up and she finally said well...you have to "pay for the makeup consultation". I was so mad! Khan (makeup artist) came running over to me and said "sweetie I normally charge $150 just for the consultation" "I am a professional you know!". To make a long story short he knocked his "fee" down to $20 and I paid and ran out of that place. Needless to say I WILL NEVER BE BACK. I'm not sure if anyone lives in Bloomfield Hills, MI but the salon name is Truth. It is horrible! The people are really nice...I talked to the owner but clearly they are not on the "up and up" when it comes to business practices. |

well that sucks. first of all, I"d have said, honey, I didn't ask for you you begged to make up my face. and i"d walk right on out of there after only paying for the cosmetics that you wanted to purchase. what a crappy and shabby business practice. sorry that happened to you! |

ps sounds as if the "makeup artist" was desperate for a client. I wouldn't go back there if i were you. |

Man, people will always try to make a buck off you if they can. I don't think I would have even paid the $20! |

Believe me I will never go back in there again! I think you are right...he was begging me to come back for a full makeover even after I wouldnt pay the fee. I left with such a bad feeling and usually when I by new products I'm on such a high. I need to get tougher when it comes to paying for things like that...it seems that a few of the "high end" salons I've been in really pressure their customers into buying products. I hate that! |

I had a Glominerals makeover the other day & although I don't think the foundations were that great, I would have to agree that the concealer is amazing! It made my skin look flawless & so smooth. Definitely getting one with my next order! |
