I'm looking for a new daily exfoliator, I'm using Dermalogica's Microfoliant right now and it's great but a bit on the drying side so would like to try something better when that runs out.
I have acne-prone skin that is sometimes a bit raw due to the drying/peeling/healing of the acne so I need a gentle exfoliator that won't peel my dried acne scabs before they're ready to come off or irritate my acne. I would also prefer something with anti-bacterial properties
I have some candidates in mind and would love to hear more opinions about them or other products:
Astara Daily Refining Scrub
Caudale Gentle Buffing Beads
Juice Beauty Exfoliating Cleanser
PSF Papaya Cleansing Gel (but because it has ALES I'm a bit reluctant but ingredients look great)
Juice Beauty Green Apple Cleanser
TIA! |

I tried the PSF Papaya Cleanser and it made me breakout.
I recommend the Queen Helene Mint Julep Facial Scrub. The scrubbing beads are very gentle and makes your skin feel very refreshed. |

Hi!
My absolute favorite exfoliator is this one:
http://iceelements.com/index.html?view=products&CatID=2&SubID=8&sid=&cid=&tid=
It is gentle enough to be used daily and it uses pharmacuetical grade aloe vera that will help with your redness as well as keep your skin hydrated.
My son has used it for his acne and has had very good results with it.
Whatever you select, I hope it works out for you!

The PSF papaya cleanser is very drying, and not exfoliating at all. I use mine as a brush cleaner now :P
I agree with Bosoxy, the Ice Elements is very nice, leaves the skin smooth and is non abrasive.
If you can't find one to use, then you can always whip up some DIY stuff that's a cross between Microfoliant and Pevonia's Enzymo-peel - just use aloe juice, sprinkle of papain/bromelain and aspirin and massage into the skin daily. My last batch came out a bit strong, it stung within seconds and left me quite red, BUT I had realllllly smooth skin and the redness was only temporary. |

I really liked the Astara one and will be getting this with my next order. How about trying Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream? If you use it twice daily it should be exfoliating enough (and it will be VERY gentle). It also won't dry you out. |

The Caudalie one is pretty good & non-abrasive. At the moment I'm using the Clarins exfoliator which I got a little sample of & so far it's great & I love the scent too. Also Cellcosmet's exfoliator was another really good one |

sormuimui-- I have the same problem you have, so I recently tried out a buncha scrubs in order to try to find the same thing: a gentle, daily exfoliant that won't disturb my acne scabs. Probably the gentlest of all the items you listed is the Juice Beauty Green Apple Cleanser. I actually use that once a day, leave it on for a minute like a mask, and then use a gentle scrub afterwards. I like the Green Apple Cleanser a lot--- the smell is refreshing, and it seems to help fade red marks.
As for actual scrubs, the Caudalie scrub and and the Juice Beauty scrub both contain jojoba beads which are one of the most gentle ways to exfoliate, so I think they would both be good. The two scrubs that are working the best for me right now, though, are Alba Hawaiian's Pineapple Scrub and Skin Milk's Facial Scrub. The pineapple scrub smells very juicy, and it contains a combination of gentle jojoba beads and pineapple enzymes. The Skin Milk one also smells good--- like vanilla milk, and the beads are plastic I think, but they are very gentle and the scrub itself feels very floury. It doesn't contain any enzymes, but it does contain some almonds, out flour, etc. Both of these scrubs are so gentle that I have no problem using them twice a day along with the Green Apple Cleanser. HTH! |

My current favorite is Jan Marini Clean-Zyme, which is a gentle cleanser with green papaya enzymes in it. It is very gentle, which I need. They also have a mask to go with it, but I don't use that so often. |

CSRX Polishing Grains (fine powdered azuki bean)is good for my daily "scrub". It can be mixed with anything so that helps for days when I want to use my Alba Botanicals Papaya Enzyme stuff and then other days when I want to use a glycolic cleanser.
As for non-granular exfoliation, my fav has been Adrien Arpels Papaya Cleanser. Very nice effect. I like the Alba Botanicals as a mask. |
