Hey guys,
I'm looking to change from my current skin care line which is Eminence Organics to maybe mix or match or go with one concrete new line.
I've been looking into a few for my skin type and would like to purchase something ASAP.
I have moderate acne, redness and oily skin.
I was looking at the Obagi line. Decleor Aromessence Visage Ylang Ylang oil. Pevonia Clarigel Exfoliating Cleanser. Dr Hauschka Cleansing Milk.
I'm tired of spending thousands of dollars on products that dont work. I'm getting married in 6 months and need something to work.
Please advise
Thanks |

Congrats on the upcoming wedding! I'm getting married in 9 months. I may cancel it though, if my skin doesn't get better!!!! (jk! where else can i find another guy who will love me pimple or not??)
I'm also just starting out on my search for the 'cure'.
I would say read more every single post in the forums for different takes on the products. or even call EDS for live chat. They are very good listeners and extremely knowledgeable... |

If I may add my two cents. I too was frustrated with spending thousands of dollars on cleansers, topicals, lotions and potions with still no relief from my daily stress of one blemish after another. I felt like a prisioner. I would not go to after work events, because believe or not, the longer I left my face unwashed, the more my pores got clogged and looked worse. Until that one magic day, after waiting 3-4 months to get into a derm. I finally got my life back. He prescribed Tazorac and night and Benzeclin during the day. My skin is nothing short than a miracle. Since I went to the derm 8/1, I have had (6) count 6 small break outs. I feel more confident, my skin is glowing...I no longer stress. Please visit a derm if you have not. I was not leaving my derm until he prescribed something other than what I had already tried. I brought my list and I was prepared. It was worth it! |

I have visited a derm twice.
I have moderate acne and he looks at my skin for 30 seconds and then recommendeds Accutane.
I do not want to go on it due to the side affects plus I don't like pills.
Tazorac and night and Benzeclin may I ask are these creams or prescription pills?
Thanks |

Hi Mud2005, have you tried the pro-active skin care line yet? It worked ok for me and my skin sounds similar to yours, just gets a little expensive after a while (and I didn't like that they automatically send your products every few months, sometimes you don't need them so soon). Good luck and congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!

hi mud2005
I too was frustrated with derms. I just went through the list of them that my insurance covered. And because I had been prescribed various things, I knew what was not going to work for me. Tazorac (at night) a very very very thin layer. It is a topical cream, I know you can get it in gel too. The tazorac helps shead dead skin cells, which cause your pores to be clogged. The benzeclin, which is also a topical appied after the shower in the morning, is a cream base and is used to stop the bacteria. So maybe why so successful for me, even know I have always exfoliated, I was still seeing stuff under my skin. Now that I can shead that layer and keep the bacteria out of my pores, that is probably why it is working for me. I am surprised that your derm wants to do accutune.(sp). Most don't want to do harsh things. Ask your derm for something not so strong. These two worked for me. I know what works for one, may not for the other. But I read many posts about taz, so I asked. |

That was what my derm did too. He glanced at my skin for less than a minute and gave me two options, either Accutane or Spironolactone. He told me that with Accutane, there was a 50/50 chance of my skin clearing up and there were a whole bunch of side effects (i.e. birth deformities if you happen to get pregnant, etc). He recommended Spironolactone (it suppresses the male hormone that causes acne). I used it for a month and stopped. I didn't want to be dependent on a hormone controlling product.
I discovered Earth to Body products about two months and ago and they're amazing. They've done wonders for my skin and they're all natural. |
