I've been applying TTO directly on a couple of zitz and one cyst that I've had all week. The zits are drying up nicely and I think there's even decent progress on the cyst. But I've noticed that my skin around the cyst is dry and flakey. Does anyone else have this happen when applying TTO undiluted to skin? Do you generally have good results when applying undiluted TTO to acne/ cysts? |

I use a mix of jojoba and tea tree on my whole face at night. I then spot treat overtop of this with undiluted tea tree on any blemishes I have. This seems to work well for prevention as well as clearing up any existing breakouts. I have very sensitive skin, and this doesn't irritate me. I'm not dry though, and I live in a really humid climate, so this routine might not work for those with dry skin or in a cold part of the world.
Somebody else posted a while ago about mixing tea tree with emu.
you might try one of these options if you are getting flakey

I have great results with using tea tree oil the same way elizasue described, when I use it undiluted on skin that isn't being moisturized with something like emu, jojoba or rosehip oil, it does make my skin flak after a day or two of use. Try using one of those oils to moisturize, I find that none of them clod my acne prone skin, a slong as I blot the excess off thirty minutes after I apply. |

I also use TTO directly as spot treatment. It does dry and leave a lightly flaky patch, but disappears fast enough so I don't bother with adding another moisturizing oil. Also cuz i'm l-a-z-y |

Could it be the concentration of your Tea Tree Oil? I currently use "Desert Essence Kinder to Skin Tea Tree Oil" and it doesn't dry out my skin at all. |

I am going to try applying a little oil prior to applying the TTO to see if that helps with the dryness. Thanks for giving me the other options/brands to consider. |
