I thought this would be an interesting idea: to share stories about when we ever met a celebrity.
I've been watching "24" first season b/c so many have said it was a good show. It really is so far. But it reminded me of something. In 2000 (while dating my DH) I was out in Los Angeles with a GF and went to a club (Barfly on sunset) and Keifer Sutherland was introduced to me and even bought me a drink! He was pretty drunk by the end of the night and ended up hitting on a girl that was in my group, oh well.
I was really interested in my own future husband so I wasn't that interested in Keifer but I WAS a little starstruck and tell me you wouldn't let him buy you a drink.
Later that night, someone I was with had a connection to Mark Walhberg and we went to a party at his house. My GF who is a knock out, really wanted to be with him but he was interested in someone else who was not that attractive, I found that odd. No other celebrities were there. Just his own entourage which were gusy he grew up with. You know the show Entourage on HBO is based on his early days in Hollywood, and I get it, it was like that. He hangs around his Average Jo friends from childhood!
Also in 1990, before Tim Allen had his show, he was touring in houston and a friend of mine knew him and we went to his show and ended up going out with him afterwards. I had never heard of him before that night. He was kind of like doing his act all night, you know talking about things as if he were on stage. for one what it was like when his wife was pg and in the delivery room, funny material but it had not been long since she had the baby and he was with a waitress from the comedy club!!! Jerk! I guess he cheated on her while he was on tour!
But he also was talking about how ABC was courting him to do his own TV show. Later that year Home Improvement came on.
Ok that is all I have. anyone else have some stories with celebrity run ins? |

I worked at this upscale restaurant in Vancouver this summer, one Pierce Brosnan is known to frequent. I couldn't believe my eyes when I clocked in for my shift and saw him sitting at a table with his young, pretty "agent". After his meal, I thanked him for coming as he was walking out and he asked me where to rent a boat around the area. I thought "heck, you're 007, why need to RENT a boat?". So yeah, he's very very charming in person. |

I have had some random celebrity experiences but nothing earth-shattering. I will keep checking back on this thread though!
A few years ago I was working in an ice cream shop on Cape Cod (Massachusetts). One day Bobby Orr came in! He is a good looking guy in person, too. All smiles. He was extremely nice, told me I had beautiful eyes, and left a $20 tip in our jar. He ordered Moose Tracks.
A few years prior to that, when President Clinton was still in office, he and his daughter and their dog were visiting Martha's Vineyard. Apparently they wanted to get ice cream (apparently Everyone loves ice cream, especially celebrities). Anyway it was craziness. They had to tape off this area all around the shop and check all the buildings for crazy people, etc etc. It took forever. Afterwards they came out and shook hands with those of us that were out there still waiting to get into the shop. First Chelsea (his daughter), then I pet the dog (Buddy), and it licked my hand, then President Clinton. Which I thought was kind of funny because my hand was still slobbery from his dog. He was very pleasant, and has soft hands.
Those are my top 2. I've had other celeb sightings (Bill Murray, Goldie Hawn, President Bush (Sr.),Steven Tyler, Joe Perry) but not real interaction. |

I saw 50 cent in a parking garage in ATL before he got huge....my wannabe ghetto self just about died.
When I lived in Cali last summer I met some UFC fighter everyone was all over at a bar; Chuck La-something...I wasn't too interested.
The only other "famous" people I've seen have been from the Real World! |

My younger sisters used to hang around with Donny and Mark Walhberg back in the early 80's. This was right before they formed New Kids on the Block and my sister used to go out with, I think, Danny Wood and her friend with Donny. I remember they used to come over to our house on Saturday nights when my parents were out and break dance on the living room floor. Lord knows what else they did
I once saw Jay Leno filming a Dorito's commercial on my way home from work in Boston. This was probably in '85, before he became as famous. |

I wasn't going to chime in with my lame 'celebrity' sighting. I saw the local weatherman (my favorite meterologist; yes, I have one) while sitting in a restaurant. His car was parked in front. He simple got in and drove off. It made my hour. |

Okay, I can't believe I'm going to tell this story. Anyway, a few years ago, I went to London with a girlfriend. On the first night, we got great seats for a play at the National Theatre. During intermission, I found myself in a lonely corridor looking for the loo. Ahead, I saw a handsome man who stopped in his tracks, folded his arms, leaned back against the wall and looked me over from head to toe and back up again. I was so embarrassed! As I got closer, I realized it was the actor Ralph Fiennes. I must say, he's much better looking in person! |
