Just a quickie regarding Renova

I started using this back in February. After an initial period of my skin getting used to this I can now tolerate it every night. My first one I bought from Medsmex and the second one from 1 Drugstore. The texture of the creams are really quite different. The 2nd one seems a lot more greasier (for want of a better word). What im really wanting to know is:

1. if anyone has ordered or used Renova from these two sites
2. will these creams be the true item (just want to put my mind at rest

Im using Renova as a suggestion from ladies from EDS as I want to try and diminish wrinkles / aging skin. Im not sure if I am seeing any progress with this yet but I understand it takes some months

Many thanks

Sally

I use the .05% renova cream from medsmex and i love it. Have not used any other type so I can't really help with that. BUT I definitely think the medsmex product is the real deal, as I can tell when I over do it I start to have raw flaky patches.

Hi amylola

I have had a little flakiness with this new Renova but not as bad as like I did with Medsmex if I over did it. I do hope this second tube is the true thing

Amylola, how long have you been using Renova. I started this at the beginning of this year (about Feb / March time IF my memory is correct Rolling Eyes ) I started using this for wrinkles not acne and was told by a lot of EDS ladies Renova was for this rather than Retin etc. How have you been getting on with Renova - Are you using it for wrinkles and if so have you seen improvements

thanks

sally

Hi. Here's something you could do. Take it to your local pharmasist or dermatologist and ask them. The nurses at my derm are so knowledgable & kind. This may be too much work, but then you'd know for sure. I've noticed consistensy of many skin products change with age. That also could be the culprit. Good luck.

Hi Sally,
I have been using the .05/.1 for about 2 months now, I originally started using it for acne, but also since I am about to turn 37 for fine lines as well. I use it every night now, sometimes I mix it with aloe vera gel if I feel that my face is seeming irritated. I haven't noticed huge changes in my skin, but have heard it can take up to 6 months to notice the effects.
I am prob going to stick with the meds mex product just because of the price!!
I was using differin from my derm but it was $40 a tube with insurance, and it did not help all that much with the acne.
It is so upsetting because for the last year it seems my acne has gotten worse then ever, and I now attribute it to the use of emu oil, i think it was clogging my pores and since I switched to just jojoba last week my breakouts have really subsided. So I am keeping my fingers crossed. Rolling Eyes

I found that Renova was too greasy for me. I use regular Retin A. My skin tolerates almost anything.

Hi amylola

The one I got fromMedsmex was a lot cheaper compare to the second one I bought from

http://www.1drugstore-online.com/showprice.asp?name=R&sname=r&ptype=Brand

I'm probably just whittling because its a different texture to the other one (seems a little more greasier than medsmex). Ill finish this tube and then decide which to go with after. Ive been using Renova since around Feb time. I cant really say that I have seen any change yet either. Id hope for some improvement by now Sad

I know it is so frustrating, maybe ask someone close to you how they think your skin looks, sometimes I think we get used to our own faces, and cannot see the improvements??
We need some perspective!!!

My dermatologist told me that renova is just watered down Retin-A. Could this be somewhat true?
